My wife and I went to Fabspeed to get an exhaust. We have a Tiptronic 2007 TT and already had a Giac tune. FabSpeed put on the quiet version.

It was a great visit. When we arrived at 8:30 AM the shop was ready and waiting for us. The mechanics knew we were coming and where from, FabSpeed has good internal communication. The car went right up on the lift to cool off. There is a great greasy spoon place about 4 blocks away to have breakfast. Whe we got back we found that FaSpeed has a nice waiting room with soft furniture, its a pleasant wait. We spoke a long time with Joe and Jay who know their business and also know how to treat people.

So about the car. The noise level is perfect for me. You can now hear the engine and in sport mode hear the nice downshifts. Its sort of loud at cruise, its not annoying, but a nice tone, maybe some resonance. We like the sound, now you at least know it has an engine.

It doesn't seem that loud when you get on it, at least from inside the car. I passed my wife once and she said is sounded great as I passed her. Its hard to tell if its noisy because you ar busy watching the road and the speedometer. Yes it faster but the main advantage is drivability. It makes more torque in 4th and 5th gear, and there is a lot less turbo lag. Because of the new sound and more torque I'm back in love with the car, it feels like a larger engne. We are used to V8s and expect torque at all rpms. I'm not sure but it seemed to need a few miles to gain full power.

If you are getting an exhaust and are close enough its worth the drive to FabSpeed. Its fun to talk to these guys and they had us out the door by 11:30 AM, 3 hours after arrival. And they are shipping our stock parts back to us. Many thanks to everyone at FabSpeed.

We know there are many good companies out there that make exhaust and we are not trying to put anyone down. We just wanted to describe our trip to FabSpeed.

I have had Fabspeed exhaust for about 5 months now. It has been great. Perfect sound better performance. Had cat go bad and they were great about taking care of it. Quality operation IMO

 

I have also had the Fabspeed exhaust for about 4 months now and am very happy with it. Very high quality product. The guys at Fabspeed were very good to work with as well. It does seem like my engine compartment fan works more often now when the engine is off. But that might be because I diddnt pay much attention to it pre new exhaust. Zman, how did you know when your cat went bad?

 

I had a CEL come on because of a cat efficiency code. The cat just was not quite cleaning up the exhaust enough, so it was throwing a code. Fabspeed warr it with no problems.
