He even forwarded me his carfax report- clean record apparently.

 

I am pretty sure that he can get more than 60K from carmax or any local dealer. Why would you spend that much time and energy for shipping the car around? Also, you have to take the chance.

Even with a not-usual color combo and less options 06, the lowest I have found is still ~75k to be the fair price.

For 70~80K, you have tons of exciting cars to choice from. I am going to trade in my 05 SLK 350 next year for sure, but I still can't make up my mind.

 

I currently leasing an E350. Smooth, but not fun to drive. Most of my friends like the new M3, but I think that will be too prevalent. I really like the Vantage for its unique and beautiful lines. But after seeing the Audi S5 and R8's white LEDS, it made the AMV LED look like crap. But in the end, Audi is not AM. I'm just looking for a unique car and hope to find one in 70k range. Pretty tough since Vantages don't really depreciate much.

 

Beside ebay, cars.com, autotrader, and dupontregistry, where do you guys look for the cars?

this is without a doubt too good to be true. i've been thinking about an amv8 as well and have been talking to several friends who are wholesalers or mgrs at major dealers here in town and they'd pay more than that outright for an '06 with triple the miles. so unless the guy really just doesn't know what he's doing which i guess is possible.... tell him you're going to be in town and would like to see the car in person and have it checked out at the local AM dealer.

people still trying to get 90k+ for an 07 are dreaming but $60k ain't the number either

I can assure you that the car is NOT for sale for 60k and that the owner is NOT "hurting" for cash. I'd be interested in who you were dealing with on it. Considering we've had this car and several others of his on consignment for awhile now, and he's rejected offers for 20k more than that, I'd venture to guess that someone is pulling your leg.

We're asking 96,888 on that car and while the owner will entertain offers below that asking price, there's no way he'll take 60k on it. You are welcome to call and discuss anytime though. 425-353-2287 ext 2.
