I was quoted $2500 for the 2yr and $3500 for the 3yr. Anybody on here been quoted similar price range. I find it quite excessive for looking around, changing the oil, wipers, and filter element per the maintenance sheet. I have read some posts on here around the $700 - $1000 range, where can I get some of that.

I was quoted the same thing. Since the previous owner did his own service, I was quoted the 2-3 year combo service as precaution in case the previous owner didn't do it properly. Cost, $5k.

My cousin who's an amazing car guy said he'd fly in from Cali, first class, borrow a shop for a day, get the job done, have an expensive dinner, and I'd still save money.

I'm going to find a local shop to do it. As my cousin said after reading the workshop manual. "It's just a car, and damn it's easy".

I have the service sheet that is circulating around here, but if you find out what other items might need changing at 20k miles, 2 - 3yrs let me know. I think that I am going to go with a good shop around here as well, Autothority which do porsche tuning and are nationally known. I also found online how to reset the maintenance required using the infotainment but I have not tested, to confirm it actually works. I currently do not have the light or warning.

I'm in Northern California and last week just had my 3yr/30,000 mile service done by an AM dealer. Service was performed for $1900. My previous AM dealer recently gave up their AM affiliation and quoted me $1200. I elected to go to the new AM dealer only because I had some warranty items to be looked at. In the end, the warranty items were so minor and they weren't even covered by my factory extended warranty that I could have gone back to my original dealer and had the service and warranty items fixed for a few hundred less than the $1900 I paid.

I also had my rear brakes replaced. New rotors, pads, sensors, etc for $1900 as well.

$1900 is more livable, $3500 just seems like a dealer trying to take you for a ride. There is no way they can justify it

I'd appreciate it if you could share that info.

Turn off the radio and turn the key to the on position. Press and hold DISPknob, when info comes on window press the seek arrow in tell you find what you need to reset. press the #1 button and it will beep. go back to the seek arrow and find exit. press the DISP **** again and you are done.

the maintenance required service light, or message. I believed it had to be hooked up to a computer for the message to be reset but then I read those small instructions on a board. Have not been able to verify since I don't have the message yet.

Thanks for posting the info and let's hear whether it works indeed.

I don't have the warning message yet but my question to the board is, when it comes on and you do take care of the maintenance, can you just ignore the message and keep driving (like the old BMW service lights)?

found a DIY oil change on amoc, not necesarily step by step but good pointers.

purchase oil change kit with replacement spacers, oil filter, and possibly windshield wipers

then...

there are two metal filters that require cleaning when the oil and filter is changed, they are easily recognisable as they are round in shape approximately 4cms across held in by two torx (star shaped) bolts, after removing the covers you will see a threaded section in the bottom of the filter, insert a m8 bolt into this, give it a wiggle and down pull and the filter will pull free, be careful as this can be a bit messy, clean and refit, there are two sump plugs one on the main reservoir which has a copper washer which i recommend replacing, and a second one on the bottom of the engine which has a rubber seal, again i would replace this, replace the spin on oil filter and refill with 10w60 oil
