07 vantage 10,000 m service , and emission sys service

hey guys

i have a 07 v8 vantage and i took the car to its 10,000 mile service .
got the car back from the dealer and he invoiced me only for oil and filters
is there other thing that they should have done ? cause i got the due for service msg in the car.

another issue that just popped was driving normally "Emission system service required and the check engine as well "its not flashing " checked the fuel cap its tight i have fuse 22 removed and its been pulled off for a while , i inserted it back drove but the msg and warning is still there .

At only 10k miles that's probably all you need....that's what my service tech told me.

Fuse 22 removal will not trip any lights, according to the Aston rep I talked to.

There was a TSB on faulty fuel filler caps where the spring inside that traps the vapor gets stuck. However, also know that the light will not immediately go out if you just forgot to tighten it, tripped the light, and then retightened it. Depending on the make/model of car, it can take 5 engine starts or 100.

Quickest solution is to ask your dealer to hook up the computer and see if it's the cap (and he'll reset the light).

probably an O2 sensor. They go quite a bit and if you are in Saudi I am sure the temperatures there are not helping.

15k Service Cost

Hi,

How much have you guys paid for your 5k/15k Services.

Ogara in Beverly Hills Charged me $1150 full service for my 5k service ($750 if I wanted an oil and filter change only) on my '09 Vantage and said the 15k service is going to run $2100.

Just got the emission message. Service adviser thought it was the fuel cap. Cap seemed tight, but I took off and on again. See if message goes away.

Nick is probably right - these cars kill O2 sensors pretty quickly. I think there's a few contributing factors. The standard mapping runs a bit rich for my liking, meaning there's probably unburnt fuel getting into the catalysts and igniting there. The standard cats are pretty restrictive and also seem to have a tendency to overheat, especially the central section where the lambda boss is located. The other important thing to check is that the thermostat life on these seems to be very poor. 3-4 years and the rubber seals are going, resulting in a thermostat which is stuck partially open. So you're fine around town, but as soon as you get up to speed, or into some colder weather where it should be closed or partially closed, it is letting too much water through and over-cooling the engine, which causes it to run even richer.... I would ask your tech to check on your thermostat when you go in for a 4 year service for sure.

I just had the three year service on my 07 Vantage at a Northern Califiornia dealer, with just over 10k miles on the car. In addition to the oil and filter change, the engine air cleaner elements were replaced (normal at 3 yrs), the two cabin pollen filters (PN 4G43-13ZE1-AA-PK) were changed and the brake and clutch hydraulic fluid was replaced (these items were skipped at the last service). Plus misc. fluids, consumables, etc.

I was surprised at how dirty the cabin filters were. They are difficult to get to; the tech said the glove box liner needs to be removed to gain access to the filter location. Renewal/replacement information is not shown in the copy of the service manual I have.

Cost was at $1750, which also included the required extended warranty inspection, should I decide to go that direction in the next five weeks (my warranty expires in Mid-July). The dealer "did not charge" separately for the warranty inspection, as it was included in the 3-yr service. Hope this infomation helps...

k@V1 - First that's a crazy about of mileage in a few months. (from your first post above)

Last month I had my older MY07 in for the 20k service, same as 10k service with the additional items mentioned by DonL

- Brakes fluid changed
- Pollen filters changed
- Oil & Filters changed
- Wiper Blades changed

All items marked "x" where performed, along with a few other items. I never did get to see the Bill, so not sure what else was done.

ok, checked the code. Looks like it was small leak. Most likely gas cap error. I reset.

I had a faulty gas cap on my MY07, once it was changed all the errors disappeared. Just in case it comes back.

Mine was changed last year, but my service guy said that there is another fix if that is not working. Maybe I just put the cap on incorrectly.
