passed on amv8

I recently got a call from the Seatlte Aston Martin dealer in regards to my AMV8 order ( I was #10 at the dealership). I decided to pass on the car. I love the looks of it, but I think I would seriously miss my tt and it's torque. I think the AMV8 won't be any faster than my E46 M3 (0-60mph in 4.7 seconds). I told the dealership to place my name on the list for the S AMv8 that should be coming out in a couple of years

I am not sure, as I never got to those questions since I passed on the car

I just read that the price for the AMV8 is $120-$125k. For that money, I would pass also. Initially it was to come to market at under $100k, guess the weak dollar is to blame. In any case, for Turbo money, the amv8 can't come close..............

I agree, one of the reasons I passed on the amv8 was the fact that for 120k I was getting a car that was much slower than my tt. The "s"/supercharged version of the amv8 that is supposed to be produced will hopefully be a lot faster

but then won't the price pretty much be that of the db9? At 110k, I would definitely look into one. It might not be as fast, but it is so damn sleek looking. It's just a totally original looking car. There's nothing on the market quite like it. It's worth a test drive...

AMV8's price is driven by exchange rate and small production vol.

TT is a better buy but AMV8 will be more exclusive. TT will still be a more sporting car I think.

For the money, F car still has more value. I think the next step up from TT is a CS if you are looking for speed and not just exclusivity.

I think you made the right decision pratt... The AMV8 looks great and is very comfortable... But it lacks power and isn't the best performer... Even though it wasn't really intended to be insanely fast or anything. I would wait for the S if you really want an Aston Martin... Otherwise just buy a Porsche now and live happily ever after. Just my 2 cents.

The DB9 I drove was fast, but not holy **** fast. I understand that the AMV8 is only a tenth slower than the DB9, but a much better handling car due to less weight.

Comparing the AMV8 to the TT is just wrong. Both great cars, but the AMV8 is more of a threat to the likes of an SL55 than anything.

I agree, for the $, its not SCARY fast. Suuuper nice car, beautiful, great interior, great transmission feel, great sound. But IMO.
Give me a TT and the change please.
Luis
