Valentine 1 or Passport Mirror Mount?

I currently have an Escort Solo S2 cordless unit that is mounted via suction cups on the windshield. It sometime falls and that annoys me as I don't want to damage the piano finish. I am considering purchasing a V1 or Passport 8500 but I would like to mount below the RV mirror. I have no been able to find a solution. I checked http://www.blendmount.com/ and it specifically states it won't work with AM. Not sure if these work either. http://www.countryjoycrafts.com/Conn...arDetector.htm

Has anyone found a solution?

TIA,
Adam

I didn't want mine to block any part of the windshield, so I put a small velcro strip on the dash right near the windshield, and another velcro strip on the V-1 and so it sits right behind the windshield wipers. Never fails to give me at least a 1-mile warning (except for Instant-On ;-} )

We install our Passport 8500's inside of the rear view mirror. It is a really clean install and you avoid having a unit fall on your dash from time to time.

any pictures of the install? I have always wanted to do stealth radar in the rear view mirror.

Either valentine one or Passport. having a radar mounted on dash just seems a bit tacky for such a high end car.

Also, time frame & pricing? How hard is install?

Yep, interested as well. Will the units enclosed within the mirror still get 360 degree coverage? Might be mounted to high to get coverage in the rear???

Just curious, any pics of it installed? Did you simply put velcro on the dash above the nav unit?

Thanks,
Adam
