Another resource, haven't had a chance to go thru it yet, but looks useful

All of these mirror installs are cool but you still need to have the V1 mounted. Kinda defeats the purpose. Also, you are talking about spending about $1k for both the unit and mirror piece. I would choose to have a remote unit installed at that price.

I played with my installation last night and hid the wires the best I could. Overall I am please with the results. My photography skills stink but pics are attached.

I'm curious on how you ran the wires downy to the fuse box?
Did you have to remove the trim? Is there an easy path to take?

I've thought about mounting my V1 like this, but I'm worried about it falling off. With the Florida heat, there have been a few times that the suction cups have failed me on the Esprit and I have found the V1 sitting on the dash or dangling by the power cord. On the Aston, I'm concerned it would chip the facia panel.

I've been contemplating mounting it on the rear deck cover and running a wire to one of their remote displays. I even bought some matching carpet to conceal the main unit. I suspect that the location will cut down the range a bit, but I'm not too concerned.

I still don't know where I would mount the remote display though. Any suggestions or ideas? The only place I can think of is in the ashtray, but I don't know if it will fit (haven't bought it yet) and then I would have to have the ashtray open every time I want to see the arrows.

Sumer:

I am a total do-it-yourself guy and really enjoy getting my hands dirty. However, I did not do the hard wire install for the V1 as my dealer did it for free as part of my annual service as they said it takes less than 15 minutes to complete. Pretty nice of them. Anyways, I am 99% certain though that the wire runs down the passenger side. It looks awesome! I would be happy to call them and inquire if you like.

I recall looking at a Vantage a while ago where the owner had his V1 attached to the interior lighting assembly so that it rested just in front of the rear view mirror....looked really good.

I need to swing by the AM dealer later this week for a warranty repair...I plan on asking them how much to do the install for me.

I put off getting a V1 for some time now and it finally caught up to me....got a speeding ticket yesterday (going 80 in a 65....seems pretty damn petty given that the freeway was empty) But I guess that can be expected from a state that's practically bankrupt

I've had the same issue with the heat and the suction cups as well. In my last M3 I used to come out at least once a week and the damn thing would be hanging from the cord. I've used the Invisicord on my last few vehicles for an easy hardwire solution. I always just hardwired it up to the Homelink like they recommend and I had a DIY on a couple of the M3 forums. Never had any problems using the Homelink plug to piggyback from.

Unrelated, I passed you on NASA one morning earlier this week near Bab****. Your Esprit is a great looking car, I'd never seen that color in person before.

I'd never heard of Invisicord before. Pretty cool. Alas, my Vantage does have Homelink—although I see the connector is still there.

I haven't driven my Esprit in over a month so it must have not been me. There is a guy that works for Northrop Grumman on NASA Blvd. that has an older model. Maybe that is the one you saw? He usually drives it at least once a week, because I see it in the parking lot (I work in the GE building next door). I don't take my exotics to work because I don't like them baking in the sun and there's too much chance of a hailstorm with our afternoon rain. Besides, people at work don't know about my cars and I'd rather keep it that way.

P.S. Funny how our official street names have to be masked so they don't offend anyone.
