Just bought a Vantage. Tune for these cars?
RSC offers a reflash, they are a sponsor here. Eurocharged also developed a custom dyno tune with a member here (007 Vantage). Contact him for more info. If you're willing to make the trip to England, Prodrive and Paramount offer a reflash as well
The year matters. If it's an 08 or older, the TCU flash by RSC will be the best tune for the money, a must really. If its an 09 or younger, the OEM SS programming is better and the ecu flash isn't as dramatic. I would still consider cats, exhaust and filters from RSC though.
Hello all, I'm a new member to 6speed and own a 2010 Vantage

I think that the TCU tune on your car is pretty good. It may not be much different with a reprogram. I had an 08. The RSC TCU made a huge difference in the car. I don't think that the difference will be as dramatic for your car. The one thing that is certain is that the cats have a big change on all V8's. At the same time, the exhaust can add a handful of HP but reduces the weight by nearly half which seems to be a no brainer knowing that the right combination will make you engine note second to only the V12 (SORRY A MOMENT OF PRIDE). RSC also has sports filters that will contribute. If you have 420HP, I think that you can get to almost 450. I would contact Stewart at RSC and ask for clarity. He is a good guy and will give you a good deal on a combo knowing that you come from 6speed. Quicksilver has some new stuff also to check out on another thread.
Thanks for your reply, Jaymoney, and I appreciate your insights. No need to apologize for your moment of pride - your V12 is a monster! I heard one earlier this year at O'Gara Bev Hills AM, it sounds awesome!! Ok, I'll contact Stewart at RSC to hear his response. Thanks again.

I'd supercharge it. I just test drove a new ZR-1 yesterday and it has better low and midrange accel but is no faster in the upper rpm, 5-7(6.5) in the Z. Acceleration much the same up to 160.
Somewhat is the answer I guess? The shifts are quicker when in sport mode, instead of comfort mode (when pedal is fully depleted and above xxx RPM).

hey everyone, i know this is an older thread but i just picked up an 07 vantage and love it. been listening to all the sound clips i can find to determine the cats/exhaust combination that im going to install. as for the tune, is the RSC tune better than say, the aston martin power pack? this is for a manual transmission

I feel the RSC tune is the way to go. You can always add the power pack later, but then you're paying +/-$3k for all of 10hp.
I have RSC tune + RSC cats + RSC filters, and I highly recommend that combination, in that order.
The stock tuning has the exhaust valves open from start up to +/- 1900rpm, depending on loading, whereby the valves close, and then they open again from 3900-5100rpm, again dependent on throttle load. For me, the 200-cell cats were too loud at the low RPM, so I asked Stuart@RSC to have a tune written that would keep the valves closed until their normal upper opening point.
It's perfect. Down low it's quieter, even though it's still clear it's a dual exhaust V8 up front. But when it opens up at the top end, it's f'ing NASCAR epic, but with a thick British accent.
I did before/after dynos, and I'm up about 19rwhp, which is on the lower end of the range of improvements. Driveability is WAY up, if that matters. From 2500rpm in 3rd, the thing SCOOTS compared to stock.
