DB9 sold today !

In a few hours the next owner of my DB9 will take possession. His brother is a member here, as is he. I wish Patrick the best with the car and know he'll take good care of it. It's been nice interacting with you fellow A-M owners and maybe one day I'll be back to the marquee. Nothing planned immediate to get although I was thisclose to buying a beautiful Aqua Blue new GT-3. I started here with Porsche when 6-speed was created and most members are smart and helpful car guys. Best to you all, Jim

Surprised by this Michael. Will you be replacing the car with something else, or just pocketing the cash?

Yeah, you have been contemplating this for a long time, I see you did it.. well, congratulations on the sale, I wish the car is going to be taken care of, and wish you the best of luck.. I will be heading that road in the next 6 months as well.. I need my parking space for another car, just like women, I can be with one at a time..

In retrospect I look upon my time with the DB9 to that of being with a supermodel: mostly unbelievable but also maybe a bit much at times. The car is drop-dead gorgeous inside and out, but I felt it would not age well mechanically. Mone probably should have had many more miles, as those that are driven more seem to air-out their problems better. I don't have much patience for things mis-behaving and felt the time was right to let someone else take that chance. I hope the car does well for the new owner. As for the GT-3, my hesitation came b/c I felt it might become another garage queen. Lacking the back seat, which was also useless on the DB9, eliminated weekend use with my wife & 2 kids. This would be 50% or more of my use of the car. I'm hoping to maybe find something new I can use a lot more or possibly something older that would lend itself to occassional use. For me at least, the possibilites are half the fun...

hey guys. I'm the new owner of Jim's DB9. I have 6speed to thank since I met him through the forums. Not only did I find the perfect car, I made a good friend in the process.

I learned a lot from Jim about cars, as this is my first sports car and he has a ton of experience and knowledge. What was most impressive is how well he maintained and treated the car. You have to see it to believe but this car is literally like getting a brand new car from the showroom. I take great care of my cars as I'm very particular about taking care of my possessions in general, but Jim takes it to another level.

Even with all the joy and excitement of driving away with the car, I felt for Jim as there is an attachment to his baby which he's cherished for the past years, as most car enthusiasts can understand.

The entire shopping experience of test driving 911s and Aston Martins, going from dealer to dealer, to finally having a pristine DB9 in my garage was great to say the least.

Now its time to enjoy the sexiest car ever built!!
