Aston martin v8 or bmw m6? (2008 models)
Hey everyone!
Which car would you chose/prefer and give specific reasons? I have a budget of 100 grand, so both of these cars are probably going to be used. Ill be using the car at least once a week, probably for a nice drive on a beautiful Sunday morning. I recently reached entrepreneurial success and im graduating high school this year, and I do want to leave with a bang so I want a car thats going to cleary state that. Im currently driving a honda so it would be a nice upgrade!
My second option is to save up for the next year or two for an aston martin dbs, but if thats the case, im unfortunately stuck with my honda. But im not sure if i should driving a car of that expensive at age 21. What do you guys think?
Thanks!

Now Ill step off of my soapbox. The bmw M6 is an ok car, but come on, you have to admit it feels a bit like an old person's car. Its lines are very feminine and really is kind of a slouch for the price. Your friends will think its cool, but will also be thinking in their heads how you drive a fast girly car. Sorry if this offends anyone its just my opinion.
The Aston will blow your friends away, but may also bring unwanted attention in the form of vandalism from jealous people around the areas you park. I have been in 3 car accidents in my life, 2 of them are from people hitting me in parking lots at college parties. The other was being rear ended on a college campus.
If you want to stick out but blend a bit, consider either a Cayman or 911. They are more common so could draw a bit less attention, they cost less to service, and they will handle the miles with less depreciation.
If you are smart though, you would go for a less expensive car now (M3, 370Z, G37, S2000) and use the rest of the money to invest in your future!

imasimp247,
If you follow 11 CayenneS advice you will no longer have to admit you're a simp24/7.
It takes a lot of people a lifetime to gather the wisdom summarized in his post...some never get it.
Think about it; you were just being a simp, a wiseacre in an earlier time, then in 6 paragraphs you get a college level course in automotive/age appropriateness. Go figure.

I wouldn't speak so quickly. I have quite a number of friends who made their first million in their teens or twenties off of iphone apps, facebook apps, and/or affiliate marketing. It's not easy, but certainly not uncommon.
Hey Dropped Clutch, I certainly agree with you. If this guy made or is making millions then go for it. His post however sounded more like he has been saving etc for this occasion. That is why I put my advice the way I did.
Regardless though, even if he has made millions my advice still works as he has a long time ahead of him to protect and build that money. I too know people who have made app store millions, but unfortunately its usually a one or two hit wonder at best. A million dollars is a nice retirement for someone in their 60's, however it is not near enough for a 21 year old to rest on. If he follows my advice that money will be given tons of time to grow. A car is a horribly depreciating asset that really should be seen as throwing your money away for the fun factor and pleasure in life. In my Book its ok to do that if you have everything else already taken care of. Again these are just my ramblings and in no way are they right or right for that person. I just saw the opportunity to share my thoughts and learn from the feedback given.
Even if this thread started as a harassment to aston owners, at least it has turned to good conversation.

Poster is a 21 year old entrepreneurial genius but still didn't graduate high school? He also thinks a 2008 M6 costs 100 grand? If you're going to troll at least make it somewhat believable.
Re-read the post. Poster would be 21 if he saved up for another 2 years to buy a DBS. Also, 100 grand is his budget, not what he believes the price of an '08 M6 is.
