Rapide - Advice Needed!
Hi guys,
My background in cars has been mostly BMW and Mercedes/AMG. I am pretty familiar with prices, service costs, etc. in those brands but have very basic knowledge when it comes to an Aston Martin and wanted to reach out to see if you guys could assist?
So recently I came across a beautiful 2010 Rapide that is very close to the build I have been looking for and the price is right as well. However, I have only read advice on people generally buying a used Vantage and I'm not quite sure what to expect from the Rapide?
Mainly I just want to know what I should look for being that it is a first year production model because from my experience, first year units usually have bugs and issues that need to be taken care of? Is that the case with the Rapide as well? Is there anything else I should keep an eye out for or prepare for with this car?
I would really appreciate any advice some of you Aston owners or enthusiasts could provide.
Thank you & Happy New Year!

Its hard to say, as each dealer/shop has different prices. But I would guess about $450 for a LOF up to about $2500 for major services, air filters, cabin filters, spark plugs, fluids etc.
^There are more kinks? I wasn't aware, what kinks?
@AMfixer - The one I'm looking at has run almost 10,000 miles which is very low for almost any car but excuse my ignorance, I have this image of Aston Martins being generally tougher to maintain in the long run. Am I mistaken? Are the newer models better in that sense?
Thanks!

The newer modules are much better. As long as when you come across a issue it gets taken care of right away has not to cause problems with anything else.

My first post here, but I'm a long time lurker. The Rapide is largely just a stretched DB9, a car that has been built since 2004. The engine and transmission remain unchanged from the other cars in the DB lineup, so there aren't a large number of critical reliability parts that are "all new" for the Rapide. As long as the car has been well taken care of and dealer maintained, I wouldn't worry about buying a 2010 model, you'll be fine.
No probs yet :-)
Other than the fuel door not popping out always. Has been fixed, now perfect. You don't have a fuel cap, that's really nice!
Have done 13000Miles, lots of them at very high speeds. Suspension is excellent, comes close to my 7-series BMW. Fuel consumption is high by ANY means. REALLY high. German cars are much much better in that respect. Sound is out of this world, same goes for the looks. Everyone will stop looking at the car. And I mean EVERYONE. Old people, kids and everyone in-between.
Make sure you put a Fuse switch inside. The car is to silent with the fuse in and way to loud for highways and long distance drives without. So either you put in a remote control or a wired switch. Both easy fits. I have a wired one in the arm rest. Use it 2-3 times a day.
