Fabspeed gets ahold of a V8 Vantage
The exhaust looks great, first time I've seen 4 outlets on an Aston.
But the quality of the Carbon Fibre really makes you appreciate the workmanship that goes into the OEM CF. The CF on this car is lumpy, the weave doesn't run straight, it just doesn't have the quality that we're used to seeing on Aston Martins. Still, if the owner is happy with it, then that is what matters.

I've never been a fan of aftermarket spoilers though, especially when they so obviously look 'bolted on'. If they could be a seamless extension of the rear trunk lid then I would be more interested. I guess for that I would need a replacement trunk though.
Still, I do like the stealth look and wonder if you've considered blacking out the chrome window surrounds?
Thanks David, anyway you can post the high resolution version of the pictures so that the numbers can be easily read (very hard to make out the numbers on the low res version).
Interesting that in your example the X-pipe made most of the gains.

Looks good David. thanks for posting. I have always been a fan of your work- I have Fabspeed test pipes and exhaust on my 996. keep on keeping on.
-people need to get over the "it's an Aston Martin" Holy purist mentality....it is still just a car and people will tune it, change it, personalize to their own liking- deal with it

(Its very obvious that the design of the Vantage was such that it would not exceed the DB9 in power and drivability. By making changes to where restrictions are designed it you can immensely improve the car).

But, AMs are beautiful cars, made with high quality components, so anything that people do with them should try to match the quality and values of the rest of the car.
Like with food, I'm fine with slapping ketchup on a burger, but putting ketchup on a fabulous meal is just wrong. So, keep the ketchup for Hondas, Aston Martins deserve something better
"AMs are beautiful cars, made with high quality components," Agreed they are beautiful cars but they are not made of high quality components. The Ford parts bin has been heavily used through out the car much of which was not designed for the Aston or a car of its performance.
I think its great that people personalise Aston Martins, that is what is so fascinating about this forum.

I would agree that some parts do not feel special, but overall it's very reliable and of great quality.
Btw, just saw this on fabspeeds website (Dyno for the midpipe X-pipe) ... As I stated before the closer the X-pipe is to the headers, the better the gains are ... an the gains appear to be pretty healthy:
