Took the car to the local place that always does the washes and got the whole detailing deal done. I'm very happy with the paint, it looks like glass! Unfortunately it was dark when I got home but even now you can tell the paint is gorgeous again.

No swirls or ripples detected.
Whomever did the clay, polish and wax knew hat they were doing.

Did you ever have paint correction done to the car previously?

Yeah I looked the car over pretty well in the dying light before coming home and I couldn't find any areas where there were swirls (and there were quite a few before he started). I've never had paint correction done. The paint wasn't in the best shape when I got the car, it looked like it either hadn't been waxed in years or was waxed by monkeys with gravel cloths. I was really impressed when I saw it today.

Car looks great!

From experience, the car probably never had orange peel, ripples or waves at any point - the paint is very smooth from the factory. The car most likely had wet sand/buffer trails from the factory. I had a post showing full paint correction on my brand new 2012 Vantage S:
