New owner of 07 AMV8 !!!

Hello, to everybody! Today I bought a used 2007 AMV8 with 6,574 miles. After looking for this car for more than a year, I finally found one that is almost like new and (sadly) traded my 2005 Porsche 996 C4S. I have notice that most used Vantages have deterioated seats, even when they were low mileage. The ones in my car are in excellent condition and I would like to keep them that way to retain the resale value. Does anyone have bought seat covers tailored made for the AMV8 ???
Thank you all...

I have only seen wear on the drivers upper side bolster and lower outer side bolster where people scratch the leather when they move the hand brake up and down. My interior is black so I just touch it up with a little black shoe polish to cover the scrape scuffs. I also know people use the Leatherique products to preserve the Aston leather. I tried the Lexol products that I have used for years on my other cars but it streaked on the Aston so I won't use that again.
Enjoy your new toy!

Congrats! Colour? Interior/exterior? Let's see some pics too .

I'm not aware of any seat issues, when I bought mine with about 12k miles on it, the seats were pristine. As others have said, there are a number of leather products out there with a long track record.

Congrats, we need pics!

As far as leather care/repair Leatherique is all I've heard about for the past 5 years roaming the car forums.

Congrats and welcome. Life is short. Enjoy your leather seats. Your return at resale will not be that significant in relation to the condition of your seats. No seat cover will be as nice as the leather. IMHO

Cheers & welcome to the AMV8 gang... May I suggest you consider joining the Aston Martin Owners Club? As for modifications to your car at this time: Replace your OEM cats with RSC's 200 cell cats as this will unleash performance (20+hp?) that you will really feel & hear... but only really "hear" after 4000+ RPM.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!!! My new toy is Meteorite Gray with black interior and silver stitching. It came pretty well equiped: memory in both seats, bluetooth, voice recognition system, clear taillights and third brake light, rear park sensors, premium sound system, auto leveling lights, sat-nav, Calibre K-40, etc.
I'm thinking of doing the ECU reprogram. Any suggestions? K&N filters, (which I read is pretty cumbersome to do), and "probably 200 cells cat's. But first, the ECU. What discernible changes can I expect from this particular mod??? And, if I put the air-filters / cat's later, do I have to reflash the ECU again???
Also, any particular mechanical weaknesses that the car has, that I need to be aware of and pay attention to??? Thank you to all again...

As far as Leatherique goes--it's the best to keep your seats like new. You'll need the "Pristine Clean" and the "Rejuvenator". Learn all about leather care here: http://www.leatherique.com/

Also, consider putting a 3-M Clear Bra on the front and the backs of the mirrors--eliminates any stone chips and you can hardly see it when its on.

Congrats. I just bought an 08 v8v Roadster in December. I too was thinking ECU first then cats, but when the other way and love it. I did the RSC cats and filters, the sound and increased power is simply awesome! I have bought the Leatherique already as well and applied it last weekend, great stuff.

Regarding any weakness in this MY I seem to recall there was a service bulletin on an oil leak on a front seal as well as one for a manual trans upgrade that helped shifting, especially when cold. You may want your local dealer to check the service records to make sure your car received these up-dates.

To Ironchef1369: Thank you very much. I'm sorry, I can't reply private messages until I have 10 posts. I bought mine for $71,300 with 6474 miles. It was advertised for $76,990 at a Ferrari-Maserati dealer. Also, I just discover that it has: electric folding side mirrors and Dolby Pro Logic. Good luck selling your car!

Thank you all for the help! I will ask for a complete service record of the car. I was thinking of putting the 3M clear bra too.
