Picking up my 2011 V8 manual trans in 5 days!!

Hey everyone,

I've been looking for the right Aston (with a proper manual box) for some time now, and the combination of colors on this one, along with the B&O sound system finally sold me on this 2011.

Flying out to Vegas to drive it next weekend.....can't wait to have my first modern Aston to accompany my '83 Lagonda! ;-)

Looks like you guys have a great group of members here.....looking forward to be able to contribute here soon....

Regards,

Sanjay

Outstanding looking car! Don't know if it means anything, but Mick Freeman did the final inspection on my car too, and it's holding together well.

It's going to be a long 5 days.

BTW don't get hung up on the B&O as a must have
The tweeters are cool but it is not that great on the sound quality and can be very hard to set up well.

Congrats and welcome! Great color combo for an Aston. I was wondering, is the speedo okay? In one shot only half of the "0" is there.

I think I saw that car when I was looking at mine. Only reason I didn't get it was the exterior color. Not my favorite but everything about the car was fantastic. I even have that same interior color. It's beautiful!

Nice looking car Sanjay.

Did anyone notice the changes in the engine layout? My 2009 V8V seems to have an extra gadget in the left side of the engine, almost immediately under the strut bar. Anyone know what these changes mighte be for?

Left side of engine looking at it, or left side of engine has in driver side?
If you mean that big black valve looking thing. That's on all V8's, it is the egr valve.

Hi AMFixer,

I was referring to the left/passenger side of the engine. I have highlighted the components that seem to be missing in the MY11 engine.

here is a pic from the MY11 engine. you can see how the layout of the MY09 and MY11 differ....both appear to be manual transmissions.

Yup that is the egr valve. Yes you are correct it was removed. I belive it was due to the the exhaust system update. Before up to 11MY the car only had one catalystper bank, for a total of two. Now 11MY and up cars have two catalyst per bank for a total of four. The exhaust system update was to help removal of the torque tube assembly, that way the header does not need to be removed.
