While your opinion as to the nature of HRE and your personal example are valuable insights, you should really think twice about making statements like "what happened with my wheels/calipers was a fluke". How can you prove this? Do you have access to HRE's customer records? Are you taking HRE's word that it was a fluke?

Of course I don't have access to their internal records. Nonetheless, I have no problem making the statement I did. The reason given was absolutely plausible given where the wheel contacted the caliper. It would have never touched the caliper if the caliper had a more rounded edge. I am good with it all......

No need to defend us. We made a mistake. Our data on the caliper profile was slightly inaccurate. Our drawings showed that the spoke profile should clear the brake caliper. It didn’t. We made new wheels so that they did and adjusted our data so it won’t happen again.

@LRDog: I'll rephrase things, since it seems my intent was not clear. Saying it was a fluke implies you know (an impossibility) it has happened to no-one else. What if it has?

@Lon@HRE: Read again, please - I am not defending you. I am trying to point out that LRDog made a comment which could be interpreted as favourable for HRE, that he cannot possibly substantiate. Caveat emptor. But kudos for making sure LRDog is satisfied.

^^ I think you're making this into something it is not. The gauge of any company is how they react when there is an issue with a customer. In this case their reaction was completely appropriate.

A company can, and should be gauged by many things, not just after sales customer support! Good quality control is perhaps just as, if not more important, especially as it can obviate some of that support. All I am saying is, don't tell the world your case was a fluke when you've no idea if that is true.

Hate to say it but this thread has gone to the dark side. May be time to close it since you guys can't find it in yourself to just ignore each other.

On a positive, I love the last post fron the HRE guy. No excuses. Made a mistake but corrected it. Thats good business.

^^ I agree that this thread has gone in the ditch but do not agree that it should be closed.

In an effort to get it back on track let's take a look at some additional pics:

Thanks Mike! The wheels are: 20x11 rear and 20x9 front. Tires are Michelin Pilot Super Sport in 295/30/20 rear and 255/35/20 front.

Is anybody still engaged in this thread? If so, i am looking for a definitive answer on whether an 18X10 wheel will fit on the front of my stock '06 DB9?

The stock wheel is 8.5X19 so would the extra 1 1/2" width be an issue.

The wheel I am referring to is off a GT4 V8V N24 and by Oz Racing.

Any experts here than can chime in...don't know if the race car V8V has wider fender flares to accomodate this wheel or if there is a different offset than the stock wheel?

Thoughts?

Not likely, that's awfully wide for a front, my 9's are very aggressive, though even with the car lowered with the H&Rs they never rub
