Blacked out tails?
I have a V12 Vantage in Fire Red and have thought about blacking out the tail lights too. I think it would look very menacing and that's a look I like.
It would probably look great on Tungsten Silver as well. I say go for it!
I am planning to de-chrome the entire car, so the black tail light would then fit nicely. First step has already been taken : replace the chrome side strakes with the carbon fibre ones:

Not a big fan of 3rd party rims though...
Brutal indeed. Only difference, I would just paint my stock rims and tint the windows.
That was not my favourite wheel/finish on that car though. I think the blacked out tails can look good on certain cars/colours but you really have to go the whole hog and do the exhaust tips + other trim as well.

As Stuart said, it can look good depending on the color of your car; plus, if you're gong to black out your tail lights, you should probably do the side markers and rear reflectors as well.
