Is it me or does that look very close to the vantage?

 

Been talked about before..but it does..and so does a lot of the newer 2 door sport coupes "body lines"..Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ, Jaguar F-Type, ..and now the new Mustang ...think it's that small rear 1/4 glass and rear hatch that make it look like a Vantage body line

 

But nothing will match a true Aston

 

It has an AML front grill very similar to DB series cars, it has quarter haunches like a vantage. Companies need to stop ripping off Aston's style. Seriously it's flattering but it's also cheap and why spend the money on design and styling if your just knocking off another car's key aspects, they aren't fooling anybody

 

I just received the November issue of Car and Driver and Ford claims the styling comes from the Evos concept car. See pages 18 and 22.

Certainly not in the style of past Mustangs-perhaps Ford is just now capitalizing on their original investment in Aston Martin ...

Supposed to arrive on April 17, 2014, "50 years to the day it originally went on sale."

I guess I'm just getting old and cynical, as I was almost 16 when it was first introduced

 

Rip offs continue. The Chrysler 300 is a near Bentley, the Fusion is Aston like now the Mustang? What the h---.

Why doesn't any one copy the Smartcar? Oh it's to ugly. It may be somewhat complementary but in poor taste.

 

I saw the new mondeo/fusion today, the front has similar look but looks horribly cheap. it's lseems like they started with the right concept and got tired, so they just did a sloppy job.

 

To quote Katt Williams. "It look like a Phantom, till a Phantom pull up."

 

The current mustang already takes it's styling cues from a decades old V8 Vantage which takes it's styling cues from both the earlier Aston DB and the 1960s mustangs.

I like the fact that they are loosely linked from a styling standpoint and hope to see it continued.
