Question 200 Cell Sports Cats - Engine Fault Light?

My local custom exhaust shop can do me some 200 cell sports cats with the 2 sensors on each cat but I am concerned that the Engine Fault Light or emissions warning will come on?

Will I have to get my ECU re programmed to ignore these fault codes?

Or will there not be a problem?

Cheers

No ECU required, Just make sure the put the 02 sensors far back enough behind the catalyst. (usually no closer than 3".) Anything closer can sometimes cause cause CEL even with cats.

I have 200 cell cats and I have not experienced any problems, rather just an increase in performance.

Depends upon the quality of the catalysts, if they have a high loading of good quality catalytic materials you should be okay.

I have had my rsc cats on for almost a year with no codes. Instead of custom made, just go with rsc, they are trusted and many people on the board have them installed with no issues. You will love the sound they make as well at low rpm.

may depend on the cats - i got 200 cell quicksilvers and I've had the CEL ever since, wishing i wasn't advised to get the quicksilvers. only thing thats taken care of that for me has been a map to ignore the o2 sensors

I have had the RSC cats for a few months now and no lights/warnings have come up. just a permanent grin from the incredible exhaust note.
