Does not having a Nav system affect a Vantages re-sale appeal and value?
Does not having a Nav system affect a Vantages re-sale appeal and value?
I found a really nice 2007 with a color combo I like, low miles, ect. But, it does not have a Nav system.
Since my plan is to most likely keep this car for 2-3 years, then hopefully upgrade to a later model, or a DB9 at that time, I need to think about it's resale value.
Since most cars you see out there have a Nav system, I'm just wondering if it may be an issue selling the car later on since it doesn't have a Nav?
Thanks.

Most seem to have the nav system, but as long as you discount for that going in, it shouldn't hurt when you sell. The nav gets lots of critical comments and some owners would prefer the clean fascia + a tomtom (I happen to like the nav system, but I seem to be in the minority).
I'd be more concerned about the interior colors on that example at resale time (sort of a halloween theme, unless it looks much better in the flesh). I think that'll have more of an effect than the missing nav. And check the stereo specs -- says 700W in one place, 160W elsewhere in the ad.

My first car did not have Sat Nav - I didn't like the cutout lines and had no issue re-selling the car a few years later (and believe I got a fair price for it)
I did spec Blue Tooth (even though I had no attention of using it) to give the steering wheel a bit of symmetry.
And I'll leave you with this image from the summer - Exact same address was entered into both Sat Nav's = the following:

Truth be told, the AM sat nav works okay for turn-by-turn directions. That one device told you to turn left and another said turn right does not necessarily mean that either is wrong, as there is typically more than one way to get to a destination. The biggest problem with the AM sat nav IMO is that it's completely worthless if you use it as a map. It shows the roads but none of them are labelled. So, what you get is a screen that just displays a bunch of squiggly lines.
OP, I don't think not having a sat nav would be a deal breaker for most. Those who buy buy for other reasons.

My no means did I want to imply the AM Sat Nav would not get you to your destination
(But rather, 10 minute added detour - guess she hates to be in the garage . . .)

The 2007 system is outdated so its really a non issue. Personally I wouldnt want a 2007 system in 2012 let alone in 2015 when you sell. We recently had a client install an OEM system in an 06 he just bought and the cost was ridiculous. However, he wanted OEM to each his own.
I would much prefer the clean, classy look of the non-nav, and this is compunded by the fact that I choose not to use the AM Nav. The nav on my cell is better....which will likely be even more true when you decide to sell your vehicle.
My suggestion: don't include this in your decision making process. Get the magic balance of the car you want (don't settle on paint color or interior color if you're the type to regret it-these things are not easily changable), and get it for a price you can be comfortable with and you'll be happy (albeit maybe in Timbuktu due to lack of directions).
Good luck either way, and please let us know what you decide.

Thanks for the insight guys. I really like this car I listed, but would prefer it to be a shade of silver. For me, when you think of Aston Martin, you just think of one in a shade of Silver. Black is beautiful, but I already have a Black 87' Grand National. Holding out for a Silver V8V. I'll keep looking. For anyone that may be interested in this car, 64k seemed to be the number they were looking for.

Nav system will not significantly affect the price, Sirius Radio and High end stereo will. The interior color will be a problem for re-sale, especially the "cartoonish" color combination of the seats--unless you can sucessfully have them died black.

I hardly ever use my sat nav...I ussually take the car to areas I know of already. I'm not really a big sat nav guy, but I do have a TomTom when needed, which I can take from car to car keeping the same user experience.
