Vantage S Exhaust

I think I have resolved the questions regarding the N420 and S exhaust/muffler.

1. They are different, different part numbers and the S exhaust is slightly smaller.

2. The N420 part# is: AD23-5230-AE, which is the same part as the exhaust from a V12 Vantage.

3. The S exhaust does fit the non S earlier cars, I can verify this as I have one on my 2009 Vantage

4. Part# for the S is: I will post after I crawl under my car.

When I inquired about the S exhaust an my closest Aston dealer, they called me back and said they just took off the exhaust from a 2012S and they would if I was interested in a "used" exhaust it was available with installation it on my car for an extremely low cost (essentially the cost of installation), so I jumped on it

Soooo... were you happy with the swap? What's the difference in sound and perceived performance?

Stock Muffler part #, 6G33-5520-HF
Vantage S part#, BG-5230-AB

I like the sound, it is louder but not dramatically which is what I wanted.

You are welcome. Since the n420 and the V12 exhaust is the same part and anyone interested can look for a system taken off a v12 for a good price. There is one one eBay for 1,200 but most likely can be bought for significantly less.

Does it mean that by changing just the rear silencer of a v8 for that of a v12, you get the amazing sound of the v12?
Or do you have to change other parts ? For sure the v12 must have some kind of impact vs having a v8 ?

No what it means is the N420 Sports Muffler and the V12 muffler is the same part. So for someone looking for the Sports Muffler may be able to pick up the V12 muffler cheaper. The V12 will always sound different the V8, not necessarily worse but different

How much discount can I expect on a new V8V?

I am wanting to order a '13 V8V and the list is $140K. It will be ordered and not on the lot. I can't find any sites that have invoice prices for it so I can't negotiate up from that like I normally do. I would think they aren't selling many new ones now since it is the last year before a significant remodel next year. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
