What do think of the new Stingray?

I really like the look a lot—enough to consider owning one which surprises me. However, I'm concerned there will be one at every street corner and most will be automatics driven by octogenarian white men (their key demographic). A 7-speed manual with rev-matching will be offered, which would be nice.

I would need to see it in real life first, it's very angular lots of stuff going on the fins, edges and so forth. Rear tail looks like camaro, unappealing to me... On a corvette w a certain styled rear valance and curvature leading to the lower skirt area. The interior looks nice I like the instrument changes and gearbox, would have to see fit/finish in the production unit to see for sure. Overall it's not a horrible looking car, but if I had to go w a new domestic car, my hard earned money goes to dodge for the new SRT viper!

I like it a lot I think they did a very good job with it. I'm not sure about the tail lights and exhaust pipes though. Maybe they could have done some stingray style (or slr) side pipes instead of the quadruple center exhaust..
Good topic. I've been trying to decide if I like it or not. I think it's less boring than the outgoing design, although it looks a bit tarted up with all of the off-color vents. Almost looks a bit aftermarket, in the bad sense of the term. I feel like this is the same problem that the new Vanq has -- adding glossy bits here and there to try to make the car look more sporty. In addition, I don't like the way all modern-age Corvettes have a flat back end. Why not add a curving transition from the sides of the car to the back?
KF: Do you really think you'll get one? I think it'd be lots of fun to hoon. For instance, I'd feel much more comfortable lighting up the tires in that than my Aston. On the other hand, I'm afraid that people would see me driving it. Like you said, it really screams white guy with white hair. My dad drives a Z06.

Not a fan of it. It trades off sculpted lines and grace of style for cheap wow-factor design gimmicks. Kind of like something you'd draw in 9th grade study hall.
The looked at the new Ferrari F12 and "Americanized" the design. The carrot on top are the tacky large crossed flags on the rear bumper cover and Camaro tail lamps.

Don't ever under-estimate Mansory. They can always make something worse, and usually not by just a little bit
I think the new Stingray looks pretty good everywhere except from the rear, but I'd really like to see what it looks like with some of those vents in body color. I'll be dropping by the local dealer for a look when they start hitting the showroom, but I don't seriously see myself owning one.

I like the new look a lot. The sharp lines are produce an aggressive appearance. I will definitely look at one when it comes out. I have had a few Corvette's and loved every one of them. Great bang for the buck, very dependable and cheap to upgrade. I think GM did a great job.
Haven't liked a Corvette design since about '65. Don't know if I'll start now. Something happened at the end of the 60s and has not yet un-happened. They are always so thick and fat and bloated looking. And here again, in spite of all of those creases and vents, it just looks bulky. And that *** isn't helping matters.
On the other hand, it's proabaly the nicest 'vette yet...if you're into that sort of thing.

I like it in the photos, but you just know that the 'carbon' trim inside will be horrible close-up, and everything will feel a bit cheap, be a bit shiny, it won't make you feel good unless you have your foot to the floor.
I saw it in the flesh on Monday at NAIAS. Interior notwithstanding I was quite impressed. To me, prior Vettes have look loose and sloppy - as if fashioned from a bar of soap if you know what I mean. This one looked taught and well designed.
If I had one criticism I would say it had a little but too much LFA or GTR influence in the exterior design, but nevertheless it still looked good and a big step forward for the brand. I imagine that the new design will appeal to a much broader, even normally import only considering, customer base.

I saw the Car and Driver video and the car is both better looking and worse looking. The clay model shows that the overall shape has promise, but the overly cheap and fussy details let it down.
Worst bits:
- ugly fins on the front spoiler.
- clumsy fat mirrors.
- odd frit on side windows. Looks 1990's cheap.
- glossy black plastic trim on hood and rear lights
- incongruent two tone leather band on passenger interior. What does it align with? what is that weird rounded point? Why???Why????
- camaro lights??
They need a new head of design. It looks like a nice car that has been made over by the people at Toddlers and Tiara's.
