Need a nav dvd for 07 v8v for NE USA and Canada, and my parsimonious nature will not allow a trip to an AM dealer. Any suggestions? Is there a volvo equivalent like my key fob?

 

Go the the Navteq website, order DVDs for a Volvo XC90 in your model year. About $200.

 

Thanks, I will need a little more info, as I don't want to spend an extra two hundred dollars. In Volvo my MY ( 2007) it changed from a 3 disc set to one, however I see my MY using a 3 disc set. And naturally Murphy's law is always in play in these situations.

 

Yup, best to check. My 2006 uses the 3 disc set.

 

I have the 2011 four-disc set, volvo part number 31326247 1122. works fine, not sure msrp though it came with the car

 

Just today I asked my dealer about a NE USA disc (just moved from SE). Unprompted, he told me to get the Volvo one. Costs $150-200 compared to $400+ from AM.

 

Yep Volvo discs for a like year are the same...uses the Volvo nav system. Just with the Volvo disc u get the Volvo symbol on ur nav screen on startup and bookmarked AM dealer's are not there, u would now get the closest Volvo dealer

 

I've got the updated Volvo discs from Navteq & still get the AM wings on startup and all the Aston dealers are there as POI too.

 

Really? Well then that's cool...I'm just going on input I've received from local clients...wonder if it's model year associated

 

Got my 2012 volvo nav dvds yesterday and they work great and if Nav screen is left up, still have ASTON MARTIN on start up, also in addition to being updated, it seems to work better, not completely smooth scrolling, but less choppy and more accurate, which makes no sense to me. Thanks for saving me $ all who helped! Is three disc set with cleaning disc

 

Good result! I read lots of complaints about the satnav but it works great for me. I did a 1,000 mile road trip in the fall and I've been house hunting in unfamiliar neighbourhoods recently. It always gets me there and back.

 

the nav isn't the best, but it isn't horrible either. so long as you have the DVD for the region you're in, you're good.
