question for anybody that has the RSC green air filters in their car

I got my RSC green air filters yesterday and I was in the process of installing them but it seems strange that they are not tight around the opening like the stock ones were. it is not even snug. they will just fall off if I dont hold them up with my hand. Should I be concerned about this or will the lower portion of the airbox hold them snug against the upper portion of the airbox.

I have had mine for over a year, no issues. I even had the dealer remove them and clean them during my annual with no issues. I would assume they would have mentioned an improper fit if it was an issue. But, I have never touched them myself...

Yes, I have been told that once placed in position, the lower portion of the airbox will hold them properly against the upper portion. This is normal.

Thanks everybody. With as difficult as it is to get to them, I didnt want to put them in and then realize that maybe I could have possible received the wrong filters.

Once installed, you'll notice a very subtle improvement in your cars performance too.

Yes this is how they 'fit'. Others have put a thin foam spacer underneath to elevate them to the right height. When I put mine in, just for convenience bc it is a bit of a pain, even with the car on a hoist, to get them to stay in place as you put the box back together around them, I put a dab of a mild adhesive around the outer ring of the filter that inserts into the flange inside the box. This held them in place long enough to get the box back together.

Makes me uneasy...is there a reason RSC that these filters aren't manufactured to fit like the OEM filters?

it is pretty simple once the car is up.

I ended up taking the front wheels off to remove a few of the bolts in the wheel well of the wheel well liner so I could get at the airbox screws easier. you have to flew the wheels well liner out of the way because it extends under the front of the car.

Don't need to remove the wheels. Use bungies to pull the liners back once teh wheel well screws are removed. Irish posted a great step by step in an older thread if you search.
