Question redarding TPMS location

I am in the proccess of getting some new wheels and tires for my 2007 V8 Vantage.
I am curious about the TPMS, do the sensors have to go back in the same wheel that they came out of, or can any of them go in any wheel. I realize that if they go anywhere I wont initially know which one is where, but I assume that I could just let airt out of each tire at a time to figure out which color coordinates with the colors on the TMPS receiver.

Not sure what type of wheels you are getting, but if they're similar era Aston wheels, the sensors should fit. I think they'll also fit aftermarket wheels .... I remember someone on here retrofitting them on HRE's (?).

What I meant was does the sensor that comes out of the right front wheel have to go back in the right front wheel on the new wheels.

Yes it needs to go back, to it's location..there is just 1 antenna in the module, which is in the cabin..it only knows the location of the wheel by the programmed ID of the sensor..the SmarTire system cannot auto learn, so if you put new sensors to the new wheels, they will have to be programmed by your dealer(just incase you though of this)
Yes sensors will fit to aftermarket wheels, tire valve hole is stand size for passenger car vehicles

irish, I will be putting the original sensors back the new wheels. I am not buying new sensors. I am just curious if the sensor has to go back in the same location. right front wheel to right front wheel and so on.

I don't see why that is true. The sensors come with 4 colored rings to match the LED colors on the display unit. So if you swapped the left and right front wheels (with sensors), the same display LEDs would be triggered if one of the tires was low, except now it would be on the opposite side of the car.

If the red LED flashes, you look for the red ring on the valve stem, no matter where it is located on t he car.

Keeping the sensor in the same original position would only be required for those cars that indicate on the driver display the actual pressure, since it tells you which position the low tire is in.

Am I missing something else?

Yes there something missing, you sir live in a perfect world...LOL

Only haof the cars work on have the colored rings...so when I look at the module to find out which tire is being faulted...no colored rings and swapping the wheel location = a nice labour bill!!!$$$$
