What does a red "H" mean in the gear readout on '13 V8V ASMII?
SubscribeIt has happened twice at stoplights and caused a slight delay in getting it back into 1st gear. I was in N both times while waiting. I only have 40 miles on the car!
Thanks V8Vantage. I wasn't really on a hill either time but that makes sense!
That's interesting. On mine, it does not engage for minor slopes. It has to be a fairly decent angle. If it came on when you were on a level surface, you may want to have it checked by the dealer.
Thanks Mike! Will give it a shot.
However, I thought that clutch learns were not required with ASM2. From pistonheads FAQs:
Sportshift 2 (ASM2) - is a 7 speed updated version fitted to the Vantage S, there is no creep mode and no need to do "learns" it also has hill assist

I put that in the FAQOriginally Posted by V8VANTAGE

It does start them automatically when you first start the car (N light flashes whilst doing it)
BUT as with ASM1 it seems to work better if you make sure nothing else electrical is on and you do a couple in a row when you first get it.
It does do an auto clutch learn while the light is flashing, but some drivers avoid this and take off..the car with void the learn and allow u to start rolling...which screws up the clutch learn
Yes H is hill assist, if u are experiencing this often then the vehicle will need to be calibrated by the dealer on a level surface like an alignment machine or levelled 4-post with no weight in the car
