Thank you ... the only gearbox I would buy for a weekend car

I was on the fence---- 997tt or Vantage ..... I think this is the right move for me

Now I need to search the forum for suspension, wheels and possibly exhaust ...

Modulare built me a nice set for the Lexus LS (my car is the photo shoot for the LS460 on their site )..... Maybe I will have them build something for the Vantage ...

Cant wait to take a weekend road trip.....

Triple,

It's your car so obviously you can do whatever you want, but...

Before you change the suspension, perhaps give the standard setup a chance. I have the Sportspack and I think it's superb. Does your car have the Sportspack? If so, on your MY13 it's essentially the S setup.

The Vantage is stunningly beautiful and, IMHO, blingy and/or huge wheels detracts from the classiness and elegance of an Aston Martin as well as compromising the ride and handling. Some aftermarket wheels, such as some HREs, can suit the car very well.

Thanks everyone for the feedback .... It unfortunately does not have the sports pack ... and I hear you on the ride issues - my Lexus is dropped 2" --- bounces around but looks good .....

Regarding the wheels - Stock on any car just wont cut it - they are the first things to go - form over function for me ....

I will most likely go with 19's or 20's and see how I like the stance once installed ... Searching the forum now for size comparisons....

I called 360 Forged and they are going to use the car in a photoshoot ... So now I just need to pick the style and size ....

Something out of this line:

I won't bother quarreling with you over how well suited the stock wheels are. If you think that aftermarket makes an exotic look better...well, you're entitled to that opinion. For a thought on just about the only good looking aftermarket wheels on a Vantage, look at the HREs on double-low-7's (I can't remember how to spell his clever name) Magma Red Vantage S and his current Vantage 12. That's about as good as it gets.

As for the wheel choices you've set before us: the Mesh8 and SpecMulti are the only ones worth considering. All of the others will make your car look like it was bought from a salvage yard.

Nah, on the other hand, the SpecMulti appears to have rivets/screw heads, so that won't do. I guess it's the Mesh8. Not sure why you favor 360 Forged, they really lack the clean sophistication of the Aston Martin's design.

On another note, well done on picking the right car.

Even though I'm longing to get out of my 3 pedal Vantage, I respect and appreciate the choice.

Good decision .....

360 Forged is close to my house and gives me a deal if the car can be used in their website .... I have a pair of the spec's multis on my Lexus and they look as new 5 years later ...

Here are some more from their 3 piece line:

Hmmm, some better options there.
One big concern is that those appear to have a bright (mirror) finish on the inner face of the rim. That's just awful. The wheels should be matte, satin or in select areas machined (diamond turned is what the kidz seem to call it now). Bright finish on wheels is horrible unless the car is from 1968 or earlier.

Though now that I'm ranting about it, I'd bet a Vantage would look stunning in some vintage spoked wheels like the stock spec of a Jag X type.

Anyhow, back to your car and wheels. Your beautiful new car was designed around the concept of clean, taut, subtle aggression. The wheels should rhyme with this concept.

Multi piece wheels do not synchronize with the integrated clean joints in the car and thus they appear mismatched with it.

There is very little bright metal on your Vantage. Where it does appear it is in thin strips, emphasizing a shape or line. On wheels, that can't happen since the "line" is just a circle, a very not dynamic shape. So no bright on the wheels.

Finally the spokes. Too many and you get a busy, unclean wheel. Too few and you get an inelegant, hollow effect that again, distracts from the unified grace of the car.

Are any of your options available with a transparent dark finish like graphite or smoke? That alone may help the wheels provide design enhancement instead of contradiction.
Here's what "right" looks like: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...els-p40sc.html

Of the ones in this batch: GT Mesh 6 and GT Split 7 look best.
Good luck.
