Evo Car of the Year Video (featuring V12VS)
Like them all except for:
R8 ----> Boring styling, just an Audi, who cares
SLS ----> You'd have to be a **** to drive one of these in public, esp. the doors
4C ----> Could they make an uglier little blob of a car? Hope it never comes here.

Great vids, thanks for posting. Fantastic cars, and another raving review of the 991 GT3. And they sold me on one with that ending! Such noise!

I thought so as well. He mentioned the gearbox but he said that it actually suits the car.
The ending was great. But -- I think it would have every bit as compelling if it had been filmed aboard the V12VS. Or the F12. Or the...
Nice grouping of cars.
The 4C is a beautiful car and a beautiful idea for a car. Let's just hope it grows into a real contender.
The Aston does very well, and frankly it does what it does best. I friend of mine who is an auto journalist actually feels the 6spd V12 is the better road car.

Sooooo, am I the only one who's actually sick and tired of ranking comparos that use totally abnormal driving to judge road cars?
I never drive like that. I'd love to, but I don't. I mostly don't care which car is better for driving like that. What do I care about? What's it like to own and drive the way it is most likely to be driven?
What's it like in slow traffic?
What's it like in a parking lot?
What's it like at 60 to 70 and passing?
What's it like with a passenger? Can you have a conversation without shouting?
What's it like in light city traffic, red light after red light?
And what's it like on crappy, pot holed, expansion jointed roads?
I know these aren't daily drivers, they're not trying to be Camrys. But they will spend most of their driven hours in the conditions I've described and very few if any hours on well groomed, closed, winding mountain roads.
It's not that I don't care about how jaw dropping the F12 might feel. But I really want to know what it would be like to drive it on a date.
When I did the Exotics Racing thing, this was the thought that I left with: Which of these cars would I actually like driving in the real world. And much as I loved the Scud and the Superlegera, I'd rather have a Vantage. And when the press does these pure performance reviews and comparos, I just shake my head and wonder how most of the information they provide is supposed to mean anything to anyone who might actually buy and drive one of the cars.

Ibis,
Excellent, excellent post(s). This is why I frequently make the point that one of my favorite things about my V8V is that it doesn't have to be driven like the cars are being driven in the video to be fun and involving. It's so important, IMO, that a road car is fun and involving at sane speeds. To me, cars like the F12 and 458 -- and probably now the GT3 -- are really about driving at huge speeds and, until you're driving them at massive speeds, you're not really getting the experience they're meant to give. An Aston is great to drive at major speed when the (sadly rare) opportunity arises, but you don't have to drive them like that to get the Aston experience.
Great video, though.
