I really don't have a reference for what I hope. Just as there was no reference that predicted the '05 Vantage when the first show pony graced the floor and dropped jaws the world over.

I decided on buying the Vantage AFTER I test frove a V8 F-Type

My son and I, both of whom took the Aston Performance driving course when we had our original 2007 Vantage drove the F-Type 500HP car when it first came out. Very nice touches, but not as elegant as the Vantage. What surprised me was that the 500HP certainly did not feel faster than the Vantage even though it obviously was, sounded a bit better though. It also felt too Camaro-like, sorta like to tall of door sills sitting down in a tub. I also had a 560HP CTS-V in 2009 - that also did not feel as quick as the Aston, but both had Automatics, and the CTS-V defaulted in 2nd gear starts unless you first shoved the gear shift to sport mode. The other problem is that I could feel the front wheels jiggle through the steering wheel, that was very irritating.

The NAV is light years ahead of Aston, and the seats I thought more comfortable, but the car felt huge. The CTS-V I had felt smaller than the new Camaro. The design of the Aston is simply better on many levels. If there was no such thing as a Vantage, I guess I would have bought the F-Type, but instead I decided on a 2009 Vantage and very glad I made that decision.

I drove the FType convertible. It's a nice car mist a beautiful car, but not as nice or beautiful as my V12. The first third of the hood just feels too big perhaps 10% smaller proportions would help. It almost feels grafted on.

The whole car just felt BIG next to the Aston. Very high as well.

But it's a very welcome edition to the car world, remember it will only get better!!

Thank you, I rest my case ... It does not feel that fast, aston feels faster for sure. You did the right thing getting the 2009 aston, correct choice!
