Anyone sell just rear aftermarket springs?

Hey guys,

I want to lower the rear of my car without lowering the fronts. I feel like the front handles great but the rear is all over the place. Also, the rear wheel gap and ride height is more than the front so I want to settle the rear down with a much nicer look. I feel like all the aftermarket spring options for the front lower the front end too much. In Houston it's impossible to not scrape everywhere if you have lowered car so I want to keep front stock as I am happy with the way it looks and handles.

Does anyone sell just the rear springs separate?

Thanks

That would be a big mistake and you would upset not only the balance of the car, but the alignment settings as well. Sorry mon, you don't want to do that. You should keep all your springs matched.

You can take the path I chose and run 20" wheels - it makes a difference in the overall appearance of the car and closes that gap without lowering the car.

Actually, I feel like the balance of the car is unbalanced stock, the rear needs to have a much faster spring rate to match the front. The front reacts quickly, but the lazy just takes forever to settle.

I know reducing unsprung mass with 2-piece rotors helps quite a bit in that regard, but it doesn't do anything for ride height

Really? I've had my 07 Vantage on the track and push pretty hard with it, I find it to be wonderfully, marvelously neutral and with exceptional balance to it. Its one of the finest handling cars I've ever driven at 10/10ths on a track - far better than any 911 I've had on the track.

I'd suggest going to a race shop that knows how to set up suspensions before you do just a rear spring swap and talk with them about it before you actually do it. I've got some concerns about doing a rear-drop only in regards to safety at speed and just don't want to see you get in a tough spot is all.

rear springs only would have to be custom. just get kw3 it is the best mod i have done on any car. i tried stock sport suspension, then the same with h&r springs only and then finally went to kw. vantage handling is superb with the kw3.

Hey Ashkon,

How much was the KW3 setup?

Also, how much are the factory sport springs? And how much of a drop do the factory sport springs provide?

Maybe the sport springs both front and rear will help... I just don't want a bone jarring ride. I know a lot of the bad ride qualities come from the Bridgestone RE050A (junk tire IMO). I will be upgrading to forgestars w Michelin pilot super sports in 6-8weeks, so that should help out ride quality a lot.

The kw were about 4k installed. expensive but well worth it. I was going to sell the car because i didn't like how the rear bounced on forever stock. It got even worse with changing springs.

I think sport suspension dampers with after market springs is a bad idea. Using the same lowering springs the sport suspension will lower significantly more than non sport. I found out the hard way.

Stock sport suspension and springs is just about an inch lower than standard i believe.

I also have forgestar with mpss 255/285. much better than before.

Ya the consensus seems to be Michelin Pilot Super sports are best for ride quality and performance.

I will be running 19x9 / 19x 11 forgestars with 265/305 tire setup.

What offset you run on the forgestars?

Can I run just the sport springs with stock non sport shocks?

mine is 9" +42 and 11" +58 with a 10mm mansory spacer. Front is really flush slight poke. Running over -2 front camber to hide it so judge accordingly.

Remeber PSS are extra fat tires. PSS didnt have 295 out when i ordered. If i had 295 or 305 I would be close to too aggressive with spacers (+48). I think a low 50 offset in 11" would work well with PSS 305 and you shouldn't go below 50 offset unless doing 295.

Cheapest and best bet for you is to just get the h&r springs on non sport shocks. It rides better than on sport shock springs as weird as that may seem.

OE sport pack also comes with thicker rear sway bars that may interest you.
