Just got back from the AM of Washington Annual Party and got the story of the Zagato.... It belongs to one of the owners of the dealership who intends to keep it, and had it federalized. Still in transit coming from the shop that did the work to make it US legal, it will be at the dealership next week and stay there for a few weeks before going to his home. Its a UK car, one of only 65 made and the only one in the USA. I'll be making a trip back to the dealer to see it, for sure.

Did they cease production of these cars with the demise o the V12V? Not that I am in a position to buy one, I am just curious.

Apparently Aston Martin was going to make 100 of them, on a pre-sold buy, but only enough orders came in for a 65 unit run (so I'm told), and that's all they made. Price was over $ 500K, that may have had something to do with it...
^^^^ Granted, there is some collectible value, but it does seem kind of silly to have a car that is essentially a re-bodied V12V and costs many times more yet is eclipsed in performance by the V12VS. IMO, it's not even as pretty as other Astons.
They did stop production, once they started building the new MY cars with the Bosch electronics.

Interesting colour choice - not one of the 'unique' colours advertised for the Zagato, methinks. Have to agree with karl - a whole lot of money for a V12V with an ugly wardrobe makeover. I wonder what the value will be in a few years?
