Which to buy 06 DB9 or V8 Vantage 07 or 08

A bit afraid the 12 Cyl will be expensive maintenance. I've had an 07 which was fine tho a bit underpowered. Any input appreciated. Can't afford anything newer.
Thank you

um.. so many more factors to consider.

KMs, service history, recalls, previous owners, mods....

I don't think DB9 maintenance costs are much different from the Vantage. One oil filter, 12 litres of oil, same brakes, same tires. If you get a DB9 with TT2 there's no clutch to worry about either, and even if you do find a manual they don't seem to have the same clutch issues that some Vantages seem to suffer.

Can't think of a more affordable way to get the V12 experience

There's a really nice 07 Vantage in the classifieds forum that I would consider buying if I didn't already have a 2015 on order.

I love the Vantage but if the DB9 is relatively bulletproof and with the standard automatic I would be much more comfortable with the lack of clutch replacement and general DD ability. In a coupe you would not have top issues as well and at this point an older DB9 with some miles is going to have most of the kinks worked out.

If costs were not a factor, what would be your first choice? These are 2 different experiences.
FWIW, no engine issues on my 05 9.

Thumbs up Which to buy

Love my db9 volante. normal maintenance and a DD. top leaks (one) easily fixed with silicone. I now have 36k and part for maintenance are a little high but probably would be on Vantage

Personally I'd go for the newest car you can swing. The DB9 engine would be more expensive in the event of repairs (v12 vs v8) but other than that probably similar to vantage.

Down to deciding what YOU want from the car your looking for. Both are super! Both are different from each other. Both a joy to experience. Every outing an event! Hopefully maintenance cost won't be THE deciding factor. I had a friend who wrote down what he was REALLY looking for. It helped keep him from rationalizing away from what he wanted to something less. No I wish I woooda or I shooouda. The $ your spending on your purchase is not insignificant. Good luck. We'll be looking for pics.
