Ventilated Seats on AM V8V
Ventilated Seats on AM V8V
I know it's odd to be thinking about this during winter, but, I just purchased a V8V, and figure now is a good time to tackle any projects I want to complete before spring. That said, I was wondering if anyone has added ventilated / cooled / air-conditioned seats to their V8V? Is it by any chance an option on another model, and possible to retrofit here?
I've found a couple of companies that make kits, and I'm sure with enough effort a shop could install it. But, it would require replacing at least part of the leather with perforated panels for the air to escape. I'm not sure how crazy I am about doing that to my seats.
Barring a more permanent solution, I may look into building a ventilation system into a seat cover that can be taken in and out quickly. This would undoubtedly look terrible, but, as long as it could easily be removed, it might be a decent enough solution for comfort on hot days.

vent/cooled seats are available in both Rapide (since inception I think) and Vanquish. The Rapid I tested provided just barely enough cool air to feel. The Vanquish was better.
I would LOVE to have cooled seats in all of my cars and I still don't understand why they aren't as common as seat heaters. I would wager that, in North America at least, the number of times people have to get into a hot car far outweighs that for a cold car. Consider the summer climates in the population and growth centers vs the winter climates and I'm confident that the math supports that more people are hot more often than cold. So why heaters and only rarely coolers?
Yes, I know that Aston Martin is an English manufacturer and a global seller, but still...
