Enclosed shipping
Any recommendations for enclosed shipping and what can I expect to pay? Who is reliable? Are all shippers equal if they are all bonded and insured?
I am getting pricing from $900 - $1600
Every broker is saying that the lower pricing under $1000 is bogus and they scam you.

Knowing where you are shipping from and to where would help.
I was quoted $2050 enclosed from FL to CA (recently) by Intercity Lines.
Auto Transport Specialists quoted me $1500 enclosed from FL to CA. I was very happy when I used them in the past (2 years ago).
I ended up purchasing a car in state so I did not need to have it shipped.
I have used both and have been extremely happy. When shipping a car I think it is definitely worth it to pay a little more for peace of mind.Good luck!

I just shipped from Seattle to Atlanta for $1,800. It was a little more than other quotes I received, but I ultimately went with this company due to the high recommendation from the dealership.
The dealer was also willing to handle all paperwork and proxy the pickup for me which went a long way in my decision.
I've used other carriers in the past, but I especially liked the email updates and communication from the dealer.
PM me if you're interested in the transports name and I can provide it.
I agree with the advice you've received though. If the quote is too low, you have to question how many times they may move your car to different trucks, or their reliability.
I've heard of carriers shifting cars to open transport on long hauls unbeknownst to the customer.

There is a big difference between quality of carrier and it reflects in the pricing.
When I shipped one car enclosed from NC to NJ it was $1k, the car was shipped with cover over my seats, car under wraps, arrived spotless. The carrier called me each step of the way and I was able to coordinate my delivery with my work schedule perfectly.
I shipped another car enclosed from TX to NJ it was also $1k, but this time with a cheaper carrier. The truck was enclosed, but was fabric cover not a container truck, the driver decided to load my car with the driver side window down for convenience, and the car arrived with the interior and exterior covered in TX sand. The truck driver also decided to call me 9PM the night before that he will be here at 7AM, when I have to work and no banks are opened to get the cash.

I ship pretty regularly east coast to west coast. It averages about 2K - 2.2K, depending on seasons. Lots of good carriers out there. I make sure my car stays in the same trailer as the pick up. It really all about the driver too. I tip them well at pick up and delivery, its not an easy job.

I shipped mine from the UK into Singapore, which is a 4 week sea-journey in a single 20ft container for around USD 1,600.00. I get's even better: this included collection by truck from the dealer and a 150 mile journey to port. Collection on this side I arranged myself: 4 weeks is a bloody long wait.
A tip: if you want to do it independent: pick-up a classics magazine at your local gas station and look in the back for adverts of dedicated classic car shippers. These are the experts that give it the extra touch by putting silicon bags with the car making sure the humidity is kept to the right level (if it's transported enclosed).

Intercity Lines will be glad to give you a 6speed rate. Please let us know the make and model vehicle being shipped and picking up from what city and state and delivering to what city and state. Please let us know and we will be glad to shoot you over a price quote on your move.
