For the audio guys.
I have a AMV8V the premium audio (apline) and this weekend while taking the wifey out to lunch the driver side door speaker cut out completely, then played distorted, then cut out, then played fine for 10 min.
Question. Is there anyway to keep the stock bracket and tweeter and just replace the mid woofer? and is the speaker 4ohm?
Im thinking about replacing it with a higher end 4" mid on both doors.

If you swap out the speakers in the doors, would you also be looking to swap the remaining speakers in the center and rear?

Mine have cut out intermittently in the past, but seems to come and go. Usually good, but will have problems for a week or two, then be good for several months before reoccurring. Odd problem, I'm guessing there's a weak connection somewhere?
The furthest I've looked into upgrading the system is the subwoofer - going to a higher quality one and bumping it up from an 8" to a 10" (I think that's correct). But I found that tuning the system's equalizer made a big enough difference in audio quality, especially with the sub, that I've put the upgrades off. Have you guys tried that yet?

Yeah its seems strange. I would think there is a bad solder joint. Both the tweeter and the woofer cut out at the same time so if it was a bad solder joint then it would be at the prior to the point of parallel connection. If its not that then it might be something all the way back to the processor or amp.
When you say "tweeter and woofer cut out," I'm assuming that you're referring to the 2-piece door speaker, and not the sub. If so, this would more than originate from one of three locations:
1: the amp, cabling or amplifier channel is failing
2: the main head-unit.
Let me explain my reasoning and assumptions.
Assumption 1 - The door speaker consists of two separate components, rather than a coaxial design. Looking at the parts diagram, they show both designs :-/
Assumption 2 - The separate speakers each have their own lead splitting from a single lead off of the amp.
During my research into upgrading my base audio to premium, i learned that the head unit actually splits the original source signal into 6 discrete channels, applies the DSP and EQ manipulations, and then passes them to the amp. Aston Martin has some manipulations they do to the audio curve to account for acoustical positioning and their desired sound stage. your head unit could be having some issues with this splitting of channels. (Not likely since you stated it comes and goes, and digital signal processors rarely fail in that fashion)
More likely, the molex plug, or fiber optic cable at your amp is faulty, I believe I saw a tech article on this over the weekend while I had a valid subscription to the astonmartechinfo.com site...
Easy solution would be to pull up the panels to expose the amp, and start there. Second, more difficult solution would be to pull the door panel and ensure the molex plug on that end hasn't slipped out. (Doors get opened/shut a lot)
If it was me, I'd pull the door, put some testers on the pins at both ends of the wiring harness, and validate the cables are not shorting out somehow...
Or of course, if under warranty, let the dealer deal with it

Had this issue with my S new from the factory.
Took a few visits to sort it.

My problem is with the sub cutting out in a roadster. Interestingly enough, it's mostly not working and occasionally kicks in. When it does- wow!!
Ideas? Need to fix this as the Premium sound isn't sounding so premium since I bought it. Also the location of sub and amp would be great as dealer quoted $800 just for diagnosis.

I thought this problem was solved by swapping the Bluetooth switcher.
