HAs anyone used oil drain valve to make oil change easy.
Its not listed for Aston Martin but I am sure we can get right size.
Google shows at least 2 companies selling those. I think it will reduce risk of destroying oil pan threads.

I've seen people put them on some cars but I've never used one. The added benefit of shaving a couple seconds from an oil change wasn't worth the added risk of having a valve protrude from my oil pan or sump. If something hits it, it could open the valve (and explode your engine from oil starvation) or even worse damage the valve and pan/sump (which could also cause it to lose oil, and explode your engine again).

This is especially poignant IMHO because of how low our cars are to the ground. Just my two cents.

I know at least in DB9 oil drain plus is recessed and belly pan will protect the area.

I have read on lambo forum that people have stripped their oil drain pan threads (it's made of aluminum) don't know if that's a concern for DB9?

You'd have to be a ham fisted gorilla to strip the drain plug threads. Don't waste your time.

Lol YES SIR
Ok that solves it.
My Lambo has 7 drain points so it won't work for that too.

rather invest in a oil suction pump with attachments you can drain a oil tank or sump in seconds and easy to manage the old oil for disposal, also no gaskets that could leak or sweat after draining, simply suck out the dipstick point?

Comment on old thread.
1. V8V oil tank drain plug is low to ground due to dry sump.
2. belly pan has hole open for drain plug access. Plug is perhaps 1cm recessed from belly pan.
3. Valve style plug will likely protrude beyond opening, subjecting to damage. It will be inches above ground.
4. Thread is M14-2.0, I think, I asked Fumoto they don't carry any that fits. Any way the pitch is larger than typical.
5. suction-style oil extractor works well, the oil tank has internal baffle (nice design) with a hole, need to get suction hose in the baffle hole to reach bottom. It sucks out all oil, can actually see the thread end of drain plug. Extracts 6 liters from tank, takes long time to suck out 10W-60 oil, the suction container gets almost full.
6. Still need to remove baffle to drain 3 plugs and change filter.

A bit of a different situation with the V12, but: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ain-valve.html

I installed one on mine.

The last AM29 V12 variant has the oil drain plug to the side (instead of straight down through the undertray hole) which makes it tricky to reach without removing the undertray, so adding the oil valve makes it really easy to drain.

I installed a Stahlbus quick drain valve, very happy with the design and construction.
