AM Service Records

Hello, why is AM service dept not allowed to disclose previous service records? I am trying to find out the history of how the car was maintenanced, what was done annually but the service rep said it is against company policy to give that information out.

Is the car for sale by the dealership? If so, they should be able to show you everything you need no problem. If it's a private party car, you're correct. They can't just release service records to anyone who has a VIN and requests them. In this case, I'd have the current owner request the records from AM and then forward it to you. If the current owner say they can't or that the AM dealer won't give them copies of the records, I'd assume there are no records because there was no service.

Same problem I had with mine... I think it bull, but that is the way it is. Buy a used Chevy and get the service records - makes sense? Not to me.

Same problem here. Seller authorized release, but service dept only released the two most recent records. Makes no sense

Experienced it here as well. I kept a folder with a the service records for the db9 and current vantage I own. Carfax will sometimes show the completed annual maintenance. Good luck!

I'm not surprised that a dealer won't provide copies of the records -- previous owners' info (address, phone#, etc) may be on them. Some do anyway. But, I would expect that they'd tell you what was done on a car they are selling even if they won't give you the actual records.

Well the records I got already had this info on them, so it wouldn't make a difference

I called the dealer once, they wont even tell you what service was done on the car. Only if the car have had the required safety recalls performed.

When I bought my Vantage last year, I asked the dealer Galpin Aston Martin for the service records from the first owner (they sold the car new). I had also bought most of my cars from them over the last 10 years. I was told they could not give me copies of the records. I told them to black out all of the personal info. They still would not give them to me. The service manager did show me on his computer what the had done since new on his computer screen though.
