Was just wondering if anyone rents out there cars. I am certainly thinking about it, but of course I am nervous for the obvious reasons.

Any experiences would be helpful.

I'd never do it... you'd be kissing your clutch goodbye.

I've had bad experiences with valets messing up my car. Johnny Renter would be far worse.

I'd check your insurance, they don't often cover renting the car, as it's a business

I punked out and got the sportshift and I have checked out the insurance. That side is covered.

It's your car. you have to be willing to accept someone returning it missing a mirror (Happened to a friends Porsche) or with a scratch...

There are several places that rent exotic cars, and charge a good amount so I'd guess you can make some good money doing it.

Personally I agree with Telum, it's one of my babies and I would not trust someone else with it.

You can't be serious. If you can't stomach the cost of the car, then sell it, but don't rent it out.

When I had my Lagonda, I registered for availability for TV shows and movies with an agency, but never got any calls.

I just rented a Caddy for a week. I saw a 997 for rent at $500.00/day. I did not bother how much per mile and the per day mile-limit.

Pretty tempting to rent at $400.00/day.

Why would you want to rent your private car? I'm curious what could motivate this thought.

I see it at as an opportunity to own more vehicles. If they pay for themselves then why not. It's the same as someone renting out their vacation home.

My Aston isn't a daily driver I only use it about once a week. Just like my money, I want it to work for me.

And it's really just a consideration. I'm still not hard set in the idea. That's why I am asking other people if they have any experience to share.

I don't even let my wife drive my car, let alone some skeevy stranger.

Renting out to strangers is a no no for me. I let friends and family drive my cars all the time (with me in the car with them). I can definitely see the appeal of some easy cash flow and putting that towards additional wants/toys but the risk is too high for me and not worth it.
