How to launch with sport shift?
No doubt at some point in time on someone's vehicle, an unusual part will break..
But in all my years, that was the first time I've ever heard or seen the pinion/diff having an issue like such.
Only thing I've ever seen was the ZF diff in the DB9 variation binding the clutches due to a track event in a 120,000km (was diff fluid changed on schedule and was this the first track event..no clue)..no Aston did not have these parts solo, so we sourced the clutches with Graziano.. Aston never stepped in nor did they even know of the repair to stop any orders.. Just my 2cents
As for launching in this disable everything manner with ASM .. Why would Aston even build to except this kind of abuse over and over again "dropping clutch at high rpm to spin rear tires"...they don't make "smoke show comp cars nor drag strip straight line vehicles"... If you want to practice this manner, go for it, will be lots of fun but eventually it will cost some cash...not just on Aston, but on any brand!
What I don't understand is why ppl think such a highly priced vehicle should not break when doing a take off like this..i guess the ppl with this theory can explain to me why a 100,000K fully build straight line drag car can still snap an axle or blow a diff with parts designed for 1,000+hp when the vehicle only has 600hp...I imagine at 100,000k invested it's just cheap quality parts?
(Not putting you out on the spot, but just a general rant)

As an example... Porsche considers their clutch a lifetime part. I did go drag racing my previous car (M3), no issues after the whole afternoon launching the car. My car previous to that was a MB SLK and I drove it pretty hard on the track (and even off-road).
The Aston? I drive it twice a month very very carefully now... I treat it like it's made of glass... cause it feels like it is. Before this event, I treated it pretty carefully too since it had already left me on the side of the road within weeks of purchasing it (clutch). On the second launch the dif went bye.
In my view, sport cars should be built to withstand some abuse.
I talked to one of their engineers, he absolutely knew the part would likely break under such stress. He knew that I launched the car as soon as I showed him the part.
Aston sources a $1.7k transmission and prices it $17k. Why get such low quality parts? Profit maybe... who knows.
Ok now I'm excited! Coming back from my business trip in a week and going to burn me some rubber!
