Launch Control Not Activating

Hi - new to me 2014 Panamera GTS!

I am having difficulty with launch control - I cannot get the car to rev higher than 2000RPM, and Launch Control will not activate. I have been able to engage it one time in 7 tries, and it worked very well, but I have been unable to reproduce it since. I'm using the identical process described in the user manual.

Any thoughts?

Turn on sport plus. Hold down brake. Without any delay smash the gas pedal to the floor. Launch control should activate. Release brake.

You sure you are doing it correctly?

May be time for a PIWIS/dealer scan to check for faults.

Do you no longer have to turn off PSM (Porsche Stability Management) like you used to have to do for Launch Control in Carreras and Caymans?

With it still on, as soon as the system senses any wheel spin, it will retard the throttle response, which might explain why you're only getting 2,000 RPM.

I could be wrong.

All Panameras are only designed to do 3,000 launches. After that, the car will not go into launch control any more.

Haha... I think that is a nasty rumor. In the 2014 model, you need to disengage PSM by holding down the button. Then launch control will work.

YES - thank you all. There was an old PASM fault that the dealer deleted. I spent several minutes with their lead tech in an abandoned parking lot launching! Now I need to go to the chiropractor.

Also - There is no limit to the number of launches you can do, and the PASM must be turned off as stated above!
