How to launch with sport shift?

I'm new to the sport shift and this probably a stupid question, but is there a proper way to launch the car from a dead stop? When i hammer it off the line, it doesnt seem as quick of a launch as oppose to a manual. Raising the RPM then dropping the clutch. Would i be able to raise the rpm, then click it into gear? I tried searching and google but was unsuccessful in my search.

Depending upon the SS model you may or may not have launch control.

From what I can tell this is the procedure.

1. Take off traction control.
2. Put in neutral
3. Apply parking break
4. Buy a different car

When I took my car to the drag strip the fastest time was by two footing it. Holding brake with left and then reving it up but not enough to overpower the brakes and then letting off the brake. With this I did 13.2sec compared to 13.5 when moving foot from brake to the accelerator. Edit: this was with 2005 db9.

It is a single clutch, automated manual.

Aston do not have dual clutch transmissions in any of their cars.

If you turn off the DSC completely and have Sport mode selected..you can spin the rears easily. I know this for a fact, had a client complain of the same thing and I proved him wrong :-)

You can also brake stand, if you wait to long though #Smokeshow!!

Came here to say this.... don't do it!

If you want a car you can launch, don't get a SS Vantage
