side view mirrors on the blink

Hi all,

Recently had my car shipped to Florida. The movers had to fold the sideview mirrors in. Now the toggle for the mirror do not work. is there an easy fix for this? I am really not that mechanically inclined but before i take it to the dealer (ouch) I'm hoping for something as simple as a fuse replacement. Any ideas?

Thanks

If it was damaged by the shippers, I wouldn't mess with it until you've settled with them. They need to cover repairs. If you mess with it, they have an out saying something you did could have caused it.

Did you try to manually unfold them? When the mirrors are folded manually they disconnect from the drive and you will have nothing from the switch.

Thank you

Your advice is right on the money. Yes I did or someone did move the mirrors manually. Found out how to auto move and now everything works beautifully. New owner need to get more familiar with the manual. thanks again

I know it's been a few years since your post about your mirrors but I have had the same experience - from your last response I don't understand what actions you took to resolve the problem - can you expand on your comment? Thanks

If the mirrors are fold manually you have to un-fold them manually

Fold both mirrors inwards manually, then use your switch buttons to run the mirror motors to engage them. May have to press 2 times to get them to catch. No motor noise or a loud snap may mean you have other issues.
