2007 V8V Roadster - Roof Failure Detected

Took my 2007 V8 Vantage Roadster out for a spin this weekend to enjoy the warmer weather. No problem putting the top down, but when I went to put it up I got a warning "roof failure detected".

I've gone through all the troubleshooting that other forums have suggested, but still no luck:
- exit car, lock, wait 5 min, unlock, enter, rev to 1500 rpm
- recalibrate both windows
- manually raise and lock roof using AM instructions (done)
- disconnect battery and wait 30 min, recalibrate both windows

I should note that the ambient temperature sensor appears to be functioning properly (the outside temp is accurate).

Any suggestions on where to go next to diagnose? I'm trying to avoid a lengthy (and costly) trip to my local Aston Martin dealer.

Thanks in advance!
- Paul

Dealer installed new convertible "computer" on my 2007 about 3 years ago, I think it was still under warranty.

Have you looked at the Convertible section in the FAQ? There are a few thread links in there that might help.

Yes thanks - been through all the FAQs. It is beginning to sound like a CRM replacement / trip to my local Aston Martin dealer (ugh$$$)

I had the same issue with my V8VR and like you I went through all the options. Turned out it was the controller. While the part wasn't expensive, the refit was, I'm sorry to say. It was one of the reasons I quit the roadster. Wish I could offer happier news.

Interesting - my local Aston Martin dealer told me that generally when the CRM fails, it causes a whole host of other strange behavior on the dash / gauges (I have seen this on other posts here).

Other causes of failure could be one of the tonneau latches (but generally you will see the tonneau attempt to raise on one side which is not happening for me) or a microswitch failure.

Did your CRM failure also mess up the rest of the dash? Or just silent like mine?

I can't recall, I was probably in shock
