Help - Center Console 2009+

I am trying to remove the center console so that I have access to the Shifter (replacing it with a DBS version) and I removed the 2 screws under the cup holder rubber and the metal bar behind the seat (which had 1 screw holding the center console) but it is still holding by something and I don't want to break anything. I tried pulling and pushing forward and backward like in the DB9 video online but that didn't work. Can someone help, thanks

If you have a DB9 it is like the video. If you have a Vantage there are a few more steps. Clarify what vehicle you have.

I figured it out, I think I will do a little video (DIY) when I have a minute... It wasn't as obvious as the DB9 that's for sure.

Sorry I have been away from a computer all day. The Vantage is a little more involved. Especially the roadster version. I did this to change out all my plastic buttons to the updated glass buttons a while ago. If you get stuck let me know.

Adding to this topic -- has anyone ever installed a 08+ center console into a 06-07 Vantage Coupe? I know you would not get the electronics (or would you?), but the forward cup holders and higher armrest are a plus.

I believe that I read that it is possible but can't remember where I saw it, if I come across the post I will let you know.

Here is one post where someone made that change:

I am considering it as well but my concern is it being in the way of shifting. My Vantage has a manual transmission.

It is useless with a manual since anything in there interferes with shifting. OK for SSM or auto box.

Not sure what you are talking about, if it was useless AM would have stop making that console a long time ago but yet they are still using it. They do have a little insert that goes into the driver side cup holder for people that complain. I like that console a lot more than the earlier model that dates the interior of the car, same goes with the early 2006 model and the seats.

You can't shift the car if there's something (like a coffee cup) in the holder. If you have SSM or auto, however, it can be used. But a far better choice for auto/SSM is the cubby aft of the radio console.

I've wondered about this as well with my 2007 vantage.

I was able to shift just fine with a coffee cup in the passenger holder as I have that little pad in the driver side. Problem solved.
