Remapping SportShift Transmission?
Remapping SportShift Transmission?
Has anyone investigated remapping the transmission? It should be doable, and could be done so as to result in smoother shifts when in auto, as well as longer clutch life. Please let me know if you have any intel on this.
My dealer said that the clutch usually needs replacement on a SportShift tranny every 22k-25k miles, which is pretty lousy.

I have the RSC TCU which made a world of difference. Probably the best modification done to car so far. Also changing gear oil helped significantly. My oem SS clutch recently died at exactly 32k miles. Ordered twin plate clutch so I am hoping the shifts will get better.
I sent my TCU out to RSC for a flash. Right off the bat the car shifted much better. By better I am talking about mainly smoother and faster engagement. Also noticed that in Auto mode car would shift a bit later than usual and down shifted harder when pressing hard on the throttle.
I used the castrol in the thread below to flush the tranny.
Right off the bat car was smoother off the line and shifts were less jerky.
I had this done after the TCU but the change was noticeable.

Other tips to help with the poor ss transmission is the clutch relearn and easing off the gas as you shift when the car is not fully warm. I noticed backing off throttle on up-shifts don't help as much when the car is warmed up.
