Selecting a Dealer

It occurred to me as I left my car at the dealership, that I had taken some time in choosing which dealer to go to.

The choice had nothing to do with who was closest, but rather someone who was recommended to me.
I would rather travel a hundred miles farther if I was comfortable with the dealer, and perhaps more important, that I trust them.
I have put a small link on my website on what dealer I finally decided would have my business and why.

You said you are 100 mi away from Orlando. By chance in Tampa??? IF so would love to meet up and learn a few things on the V before I pull the trigger myself to grab one. Also I can ask why you didn't go to the one across the bridge.

Thanks

I used to live in Tampa. I moved to Hernando county about 7 years ago. I went to the "one across the bridge" when I decide to have bulletin 0236 done. Incredibly they had never heard of it, I had to explain it to them. Then the price they quoted me was ridiculous.
I belong to the Keystone motor club in Odessa. We could meet at their next meeting, or one Saturday somewhere halfway

One additional point on the "Dealer across the bridge"
Service Bulletin 0236 has three areas. Grinding down the plastic from the gear lever base, replacing the bell crank lever and changing the transaxle oil to a 70 weight (BOT 270A) oil specific to the dealer.
The bulletin quotes labor of 2.15 hours for this. The dealer said that was not possible. When questioned he spoke to his technician who said the transaxle had to be REMOVED to get to the bell creak levers, not lowered as per the bulletin.
That why his cost was so much higher.
Needless to say the dealer that I finally chose was not only familiar with bulletin 0236, the tech had actually done a number of them. And he assured me that the transaxle did not have to be removed, only lowered and supported.
For anyone doing this, unless you are having difficulty engaging reverse, do NOT grind any plastic from the gear lever base.

LotusJPS is infamous around these parts
You're lucky to have choices! My closest dealer (which I do not like) is 250 miles away. The next closest is 575 miles away.
