Why why why

Ok this is driving me freakin crazy . I love this car the sound the power the beauty the soul etc etc
But why do I have to put up with this stupid drivers window constantly having to be reset so it does the dip when you touch the door handle . The battery never got flat or anything like that no other errors etc just this constant reset of the drivers window .
Went for a drive to our new home build tonight and its acting up again . Tried the reset procedure and it didnt work , got pi&&&&d off and said $@$? It I will have a beer and try again later .
My wifes Z4 coupe doesnt suffer these stupid gremlins ?????

This usually occurs when the voltage dips below a certain point and the window memory is lost. Most likely a sign that the battery has a bit of age in it. A fresh battery will usually clear it up.

Mine was doing that too, mostly in cold weather though. Battery was reasonably new & well charged.

I had the dealer reflash the door module and haven't had the problem since.

I have had door mods replaced before purchase and my drivers side is same way. It is as if a capacitor is loosing charge, as it occurs only after sitting or when system hasn't had power. I will get it addressed eventually, but just dip window upon entry. BTW when I do this the widow will seek the dip position then return.

Ok so now its gets more weird .
I go in the garage last night to put some stuff in the boot and notice its not fully latched closed ...mmmmm . Ok better make sure it starts . Key in ingnition and she fires right up . So while shes warming up I do the window reset with the engine running and drivers door open ....sucess shes fixed . Car ran for less than a minute and then I shut it off go in the house to await my good lady getting ready for the night out .
We go out to the car 45 mins later key in ignition foot on clutch ....no red start button it stays white WTF!!!!!
Grab the battery charger and connect it direct to the battery on boost quick charge mode for about 3mins . Check battery voltage 12.65VDC .
She fires right up ...
No issues coming home either .
I did put the trickle winter charger on her when I got home and will check the battery later for a date code etc
Stay tuned .....

Update .
I have been away all week with the car left on the trickle charger . Its fully charged now so I moved the passenger seat forward all the way to access the battery . I dont see a date code but it has a sticker on it that says Varta which is the manufacturer and it has the AM logo on the sticker so I think Im safe to assume its the original battery , or was replaced at the dealer at some point ?
After moving the seat back to its regular spot the trickle charger picked up again and was topping up the charge .
I think I will plan on switching out the battery over the winter .

Replace your battery and your problems will likely be solved. Gremlins usually pop up on older batteries or cars that have sat for a long time. IT the easiest answer to all your problems. As you saw, when you actually charged your battery full, your problems disappeared at least for a short time. The battery may hold enough of a charge to start and run, however its likely not producing full amperage which is affecting all the electronics on the car. Hence the problems.

Dealer charged me $500 to replace my battery because it had a dead cell, you might want to look into doing it yourself :-)

Closest dealer to me is two hour drive and it will be a cold day in hell before I get a dealer to do something as simple as replacing a battery .

Lower the window and hold the down switch for a few seconds, then raise the window and hold the up switch for a few seconds.
