DNA Engineering for CF parts

I really want to get a diffuser and lip for my 13 Vantage. But I really don't want to spend Aston prices for them either. DNA Engineering, has anyone bought parts from them? They have an active Facebook page that shows them working on all kind of exotics. I like their prices. A lot. But I don't like being a guinea pig.

Not me, but others have

I read in one of the other threads that DNA has much better pricing on some of their items but similar pricing on others. The member who did buy some of their carbon fiber pieces was happy with the quality. Try doing a search of DNA.

And please keep us posted on your progress!

Sir, I just went through this process myself for my DB9. I inquired with DNA, and several other lower priced locations other than V Collection. I figured $2800 for a CF Diffuser was ridiculous, considering I got a Front CF Lip, CF diffuser for my AMG Merc that were very nice, and perfect fit for $700 total.

V Collection Front S2 DB9 Lip was $2300. Diff $2800. Geezzzzz. However, in my research I found many places that offered pieces were prices about 3/4 of the V Collection prices. Then there was international shipping concerns also.

I needed perfectly fitted parts that REDPANTS (Telum01) was going to install. He did not have the time (at my expense) to alter them for fitment if needed. I also could not wait on parts to be made, and container shipped from Asia.

V Collection CF parts are the pinnacle of expensive. However, they will fit perfectly, and look absolutely perfect also. You get what you pay for. Are they capitalizing on the AM name, likely they are. However, the parts are not cheap to make to begin with. 1. THey fit, so checked that box. 2. They could be made and shipped in the timeframe needed. 3. They are American made. 4. Any issue could be dealt directly with Nicholas the owner by phone, which I talked several times directly with him.

So, spend the money, buy the CF parts knowing you will get exactly what you want and don't have to worry. I don't make millions a year, 5k for CF for a car, a little out of my league. I am fortunate enough to be able to buy a AM DB9, but the CF really bugged me. I needed it to update the car, and to make it more aggressive. So almost a must have.

Same for HREs. 10k overpriced, but if you bought them, you know you would have perfect wheels, no issues, and all that without worrying about a few k saved.

ALL my opinion, but sorry just bite the bullet and buy V Coll. Contact directly and work your deal out with Nicholas by phone.

Last of all------ Once ordered, Nicholas ALWAYS provides the parts, and in the condition promised. However, you might deal with a bit of not quick email returns depending on your wait time for parts. I was quoted 6 weeks for mine. I emailed 4 times then got a response. BUT... Nicholas drove 2 hours to get to cell service on vacation to call me and make sure all my concerns were taken care of. So, that's service in my book. PLus, parts arrived exactly on time. Just FYI on what I experienced. Great transaction in my book.

CF Parts------ shown in the "A Special Homecoming" thread with compliments.

^^I am interested in the rear diffuser and front lip for a 2013 V8 Vantage. I am also concerned about quality of weave pattern and fitment. There is no sense getting a part that is less expensive the OEM if the savings are eaten up on getting parts properly fitted. Since you have been selling parts for other manufacturers do you have references? Thanks.

What is your return policy on these CF parts if when they are received they don't fit correctly and require modification to them to make them fit. Do you just take the original back and refund our money??? That's the problem with cheaper CF from companies. They don't take them back, due to have been made specifically to an order. And/or the shipping back to the international location is so much its not worth sending back and members here have many times just bit the bullet and sanded down the parts to make them fit. Just wondering the policy you have for this. Thanks

If I am not mistaken the Diffuser N400 for the V8V requires you to remove the rear bumper to install it. I know TELUM01 had to remove his for his installation, however I am not positive it was the N400 one. I do know his was direct from AM though. So keep that in mind when purchasing. I would hate to get one that doesn't fit perfectly and only find this out after having the bumper off the car, then find out it will be 3-6 weeks before I can get a replacement for it, or have to doctor it up just to make it work.

Just a thought.

I would need to remove the bumper cover to put on the difusser, at least I think I would. Not a big deal to me. My 2013 doesn't use the N400 version it requires the the V12/V8S version and they do have the difusser on their site for less than $1,500. The V Collection doesn't even offer the V8S splitter or difusser on their website, all their pieces are for 06-11 versions of the Vantage.

I am happy you are asking the tough questions of the reseller, I know that buying anything other than OEM is a risk. As you said, the savings would eaten up quickly by a body shop if the fit isn't just right. From AM Bits the cheapest I could get the parts for are about $5k combined. That's higher than I am willing to go for a cosmetic upgrade.

Of course all this would be moot is Stuart would just release his turbo kit. I could put my money there instead!

Deckman----- I am poor, likely as far as AM owners go, and I felt 5k or so for the front, rear, and trunk lip was nuts. Even the HRE for wheels 10k was nuts. Just not worth it IMHO.

So looking at what I wanted (DBS that I cannot afford) I realized I needed the CF bits to upgrade to make a DB9 aggressive looking. Then I began my hunt to DNA, Oya, Scuderia, RFC etc..... looking to save thousands off V Collection prices.

1. TELUM01 now only has 2.5 weeks to make the car ready out of a total 3 weeks. Was supposed to be about 8 weeks.
2. Was worried that if I got parts in from less expensive but likely quality places and they had issues (many members have had them for parts, but some good also) TELUM01 would not have time to correct them. I for sure don't when I return.
3. So had to make a judgment call. Feed the family or get the CF for the new car. I chose get the CF and spend the crazy 5k plus, while knowing the parts will fit perfectly and install with minimal issues if any. Quality for them is above par for sure without a doubt. So worth it in those respects.

I am sure they will update the car perfectly, and I had no worries other than the spending the money.

I installed the N420 on my car:
http://www.redpants.lol/shop/n420-styling-pack

It's pretty expensive, but includes the front lip (which I love - very tasteful and subtle with no extra risk of damage compared to the original plastic piece). Installing the rear diffuser requires the bumper to be removed. You have to drill holes into the bumper for the diffuser's fasteners.

I have a VCollection front lip on now because I needed something more flashy for marketing. VC is a bit pricey, too, but the quality I'm seeing from their stuff - both my V8V front lip and SherrifDep's DB9's front lip and rear diffuser - has been excellent.

The DNA stuff has great pricing, but I don't have any personal experience with it. If the fender vent strakes are full carbon fiber (not just carbon-wrapped), I'd be interested in testing out a set. The pricing is a lot more reasonable than the OEM ones, and the standard chrome-finish ones are HEAVY.

As such they may require spacers or washers between the actual part and the panel they are attaching to.
I am told and planning on ZERO fitment issues with the V Collection CF parts. We will see and TELUM01 will let us all know. I only spent the money with them specifically for this reason and this reason alone. I cannot afford to have any issue, even sanding or extra bits to make them fit. Must fit right off the bat, or I will not be satisfied. But again, we will see but I was promised they would. Not heard one posting by a forum member saying V Collection CF not fitting or having to make adjustments.

Hey sheriff dep, I apologize if there is another thread covering this, but how did you car turn out. Did your part in fact have zero fitment issues? I'd like to see some pics if you have them!

Here: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...coming-12.html

Deckman-----

Front Lip: fitment perfect, CF alignment perfect and the finish was flawless. I love it

Decklid Lip: fitment perfect, flawless FRP finish. I don't really like the SMALL edges due to being a stick on part. SDEKonig has one also and used a Black synthetic trim sealant around all the edges and that really made a difference. I was going to do this myself next month, however I am now going a different direction. I bought a CF trunk (DBS/DB9 GT) from Speedracer800 that I am going to install or swap instead. I will be peeling this lip off, and then selling on the forum. But the part was as promised.

Diffuser: Beautiful part, CF was done impeccably around all holes and fins. Really someone took some time on this. The fitment was spot on, which you can see in the pictures. The part fit the curves of the bumper exactly, exhaust pipes were centered and didnt need adjustment. Current condition-----the Diffuser installs with screws underneath and then double sided tape on the upper portions. This tape is NOT being used in the pictures, nor is it now. Reason why is if you will look at the close up middle rear pictures you will see the 2x backup sensors are not lined up with the holes in the diffuser. Is it an issue? Yes but no. Nicholas, when I called him immediately upon seeing this, said my car is now number 5x out of hundreds of diffusers made to fit like this. It is something to do with AM installing different backup sensors depending year, so placement is slightly off. Make sense to a degree. All that is needed is a $80 part (bumper rear grille plastic part) where I am going to widen the sensor area or possibly just attach them directly to the Diffuser. Should be fairly easy, widen holes on plastic part, epoxy sensor to new position, and fitment should be spot on. So no adjusting the CF part at all.

Very happy with how the parts fit, look on the car etc..... If I had time, and the patience, and the company will promise refund return if fitment is off, then I would try a cheaper part. Especially if the company is a forum sponsor. IF I had no time again or needed perfection off the bat, then V Collection is where i would go.

I hope all that and the pictures help, let me know if you need anything else

Andrew
