Anybody in the Atl area have an onyx black vantage?
Anybody in the Atl area have an onyx black vantage?
There have been a couple onyx black vantages for sale lately that have had good options at a decent price. They have been on the other side of the country though, so I can't just go look at them. I haven't seen the color in person so I'm not even sure it's a color I would want. So is there anybody out there in the Atl with an onyx black car that would be willing to meet up with me so I can see one?
I have a super black Z that is close to the Aston jet black so I know what it means to own a black car. I don't need an expose on that.
PM me if you'd be willing to meet.
Thanks.

It is basically jet black with just the barest hint of a sparkle in it. You don't really recognize that it has sparkle in it, but it is just enough to make it slightly more tolerant of dust on the car, unlike Jet Black where a single speck jumps out at you like a sore thumb. I don't think you'll be unhappy if you get it!
Thanks for the response. As best I can tell from the info I've found, the jet black is the base color and it's a matter of what color metal flake and how much gets added to make the other colors. In the pictures of carbon black and storm black it's easy to see the metal flake, but with the onyx black I can't really see the silver in the paint. From what you're saying it sounds like there isn't much flake. The depth you get from a nice dark black is awesome, but I was looking to go with something more metallic. I'm not sure the onyx black would be enough metallic for me.

If you've seen a Jaguar with the "Ultimate Black" color, in my opinion, Onyx black does NOT have as much flake as the Ultimate Black.

Apologies for the dirty car...
Thanks for the pic. You do see more of the flake in the brighter light. Reminds me of my wife's car. It's a violet metallic. In dark light it just looks black, but in the sun it's an awesome dark metallic purple. So I guess I need to find an onyx black car to see and make sure I see it in the sun.

I have a 2009 Onx Black DB9. Didn't even notice the flake until the other day when the sun was at just the right angle. You'd really have to look closely in just the right light to see it.

I knew my 2008 V8V Roadster had some flake in it but it wasn't until I did the full paint correction (stripped years of waxes and sealants) that I really saw the flakes pop. And to my surprise the flakes were a light blue -- I thought they were gray/silver! Anyway, you still don't notice the flakes in the shade but in direct sunlight it is definitely light blue and quite nice.
I had a 2009 Vantage that color. I traded it in at Ferrari of Atlanta back last April. It is a nice color. Doesn't show the dust like jet black the metallic hides the dust.
