Why has the Virage taken such a depsrication hit?
They look like nice cars to me yet they seem to be the most affordable on the used market after the V8 Vantage. DB9's look to sell for more. Since it is a better car car than the DB9 of the same years, I don't understand. Does anyone know why?

I don't think people know what they are

Converting Australian dollars to US that car is about 160K US. I WISH they were that much in the US! I have 2012 Black on Black Virage with 9k miles that listed for $232K (US) new. Suspect it would bring no more than $120K retail. I have had a DBS and a DB9 in the past and much prefer the Virage.

In the US the are going for about $100k plus or minus from what I've seen. That's pretty low. There's one for sale near me, I may go see what it feels like to drive one.
There's a Cobalt Blue Volante specimen in MN for sale. MMMM Cobalt !!!!

I agree. My estimate if 120K was probably wishful thinking! However, of all the cars I currently have, the Virage is the last one I would sell. There is just nothing else that gives me the same driving experience and exclusivity. I have only seen one other Virage in Tennessee and it was at the dealer. Have never seen one on the road. Only problem I have with it is other drivers getting too close behind me trying to figure out what it is! I have had more than one person tell me it is the most beautiful car they have ever seen.

Thank you Deckman. Yes, I still have them all but my daughters drive some of them more than I do! In my experience, most "non-car" people like the Maserati more than the others. I guess it is the wonderful exhaust note when in sport mode. I see you are a Porsche fan. Suspect the 996 is a special car.

My outside opinion - the Virage came out under a name and at a time where it was between the DB9, the DBS, the next Vanquish, and it was slated to somehow be between them and between years/changes. It was honestly kind of a "lost" vehicle. Then a year later Aston decided to ditch the trial name, added the duckbill trunk, and called it what it should have been called, The DB9.
Seeing that there are many Virage examples now in the $85-99k range (in the US), this is actually a pretty good deal seeing as the 1-year-newer DB9 is averaging $109-130k+.

Unfortunately, the are becoming a GREAT deal! Have been told there were less than 1000 sold worldwide and less than half were sent to USA. Does anyone know if these figures are correct? I saw a white one in Florida that I liked so much I seriously considered buying another one to go with my black Virage. However, at some point one must stop pissing away money on cars.

Except the DBS is likely to maintain its value or go up, where the Virage is still the unknown. IMHO

Personally i think the Virage is ugly. Will take the DBS any day over Virage.
